Dusting this off from LXI ...

There was a poor desert franchise, it's costs could not bear
Warm smell of bankruptcy, rising up through the air
Up ahead on the BoH board, I saw a shimmering sight
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to read through the night
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
"This could be Heaven or this could be Hell"
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Hotel Roman Numerals
Only two more weeks (Only two more weeks)
Only two more weeks
Plenty of threads at the Hotel Roman Numerals
Any time of year (year after year)
You can find it here

More thread names are revealing,
Another season on the ice
And she said "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device"
And in the moderators' chambers,
They gathered filled with dread
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the thread

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said Killion,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "

Not at all. He was being interviewed for something else entirely, reporter asked him off the record about the situation. Zorn wasn't the interviewer at the radio station, he just posted the quotes.

It a hell of a lot cheaper than suing and sometime just as effective. Beside they can't sue before the deal is signed.

Maybe. It certainly shows why Beasley kept refusing to provide city council and the public with information about the actual costs to operate the Jobing.com. With $6 million established, it will make it much easier to target the Coyotes subsidy in any AMF.

Someone on the last thread called it "posturing".

Which is fine for the GWI. They have managed to keep this deal from happening in the past with nothing more than an email to the right or wrong people. Might be worthwhile for Mr. Bolick to reintroduce himself to Mr. Bettman and just let him know where the GWI might stand... :nono:

The timing isn't a coincidence.

$6MM is an arena management fee - anything more than that is a subsidy - just thought we would make sure this gets out as the city is trying to come to an agreement ...

Town NHL hates !
GWI...gimme a break.

I used to be one of those believing (hoping might you say) they would do something about subsidy thing...but hey, there's been a great amount of water that passed under the bridge since then. GWI just tries to not get forgotten but they won't do a thing.

-- This is pretty typical, timing wise, for GWI as well. It's getting so that you can pretty much guess what each of the parties is going to do in this orchestrated dance-of-death thing that's been running for 4+ years now.

Very true - and the RSE deal is going to fall apart in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

Then what?

@demers77 @davezorn72 @SteveRousseauQC Mr. Zorn, do you have an audio link of that interview with Bolick? Is Bolick an important guy at GWI?

Dave Zorn ‏@davezorn72 44m
@Vdom999 @demers77 @SteveRousseauQC I do but it's not for circulation. Bolik is one of the lawyers for GWI..one of the top guys I think.

Carly ‏@carlyks 4m
@AvsCoyotes12 @azisles02 Only reason it came up is because the guy conducting it said, 'while I have you on the phone, let's ask about PHX'

Carly ‏@carlyks 5m
@AvsCoyotes12 @azisles02 I agree. They haven't been running their mouths at all since Hulsizer, and this interview was unrelated.

wasn't an actual report from 550 KFYI

Someone on the last thread called it "posturing".

Which is fine for the GWI. They have managed to keep this deal from happening in the past with nothing more than an email to the right or wrong people. Might be worthwhile for Mr. Bolick to reintroduce himself to Mr. Bettman and just let him know where the GWI might stand... :nono:

Very true - and the RSE deal is going to fall apart in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

Then what?

Very true, cbcwpg. They've probably learned to keep the gunpowder dry until there is an actual deal to contemplate. They saved themselves a bunch of time and money by waiting out the Jamison situation, which imploded on its own.

before people get carried away....

and

wasn't an actual report from 550 KFYI

No but for Zorn to post it, he certainly believes it was a accurate quote, Zorn isn't going to post anything remotely negative for the Coyotes unless he's sure it was said.

Unless Zorn was just trolling relocation fans, knowing they would run it up the flag pole. In any case, GWI is hot air until they actually do something.

Like i said its posturing.

They can't take legal action until it's a done deal, They did pretty good with the Hulsizer deal with "posturing" Glendale has given Goldwater more then enough ammunition if they guarantee RSE 15 million a year.

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said Killion,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "

.... :biglaugh::thumbu: well done. Sounds like something I'd say alrighty. Wonder if Henleys not a member here as well. Fit right in....

or is that in fact you Don, hiding behind the kdb alias? Wouldnt surprise me. Dude sends out more missives & missiles to editors, corporations, leagues, politico's you name it than all of these threads combined in a 24hr period. Gets very angry does Don. Typical drummer.
