I'm going to start beating that contraction drum again. I just don't see how the NHL is going to be able to keep this team in Glendale, Arizona. This would have gotten done a long time ago if this team had some kind of profit.

The Memphis Grizzlies just sold yesterday and they're not in the best of financial shape but Heisley was able to get a $350 million for his team. I just don't see how Jamison will get this done, the NHL should just pack up shop and take another struggling team with the Coyotes.

Anything to also help increase the talent-pool on NHL team rosters.

Contraction is not an option, never has been, and again why was LA an 8 seed?

So what exactly is the criteria for starting a new Coyotes thread? Is it once we get to 50 posts or just every 48 hours? Its one thing when something actually happens but when its "Still waiting", then we're just trying to run up the number of threads.

40 pages. It's the same limit as any other thread, kind of like when a game day thread needs a part 2.

I'm sure it has been answered before, but why exactly does PKP need to pay 230 million to purchase and relocate the Coyotes when TNSE purchased and relocated the Thrashers for 170 million?
Purchase price + $60M "Relocation Fee" although most people with any type of brain could easily piece together that the $60M fee paid for the Coyotes shortfalls....

TNSE - $110M Price of Thrashers + $60M Relocation Fee = $170M
PKP - $170M Price of Coyotes +$60M Relocation Fee = $230M

Fair? Not really but it's the way the NHL works.

The last one went 9 pages. I just thought it was funny we started another thread.

The same way NFL and MLB keep their marginal markets alive - heavy revenue sharing.

It's either that, or endless cycle of relocation/contraction.

Based on the way the NHL has operated in the past, I'm going to guess than if there's a deadline in June, it's either on the 15th (more likely) or on the 30th (less likely).

Toronto, Hamilton (yes both), Seattle, and Portland could all support NHL teams. KC has an arena (although I doubt the market is legit). So there is no need for contraction until you put teams in those markets.

Plausible, although if PKP's ultimate goal is to own an NHL franchise in some fashion (Phx., another relo or expansion), it would take some combination of guts and stupidity to paint the BoG into a corner on this deal. Uncle Gary doesn't like it when potential suitors don't play by his rules....Of course, if another franchise is going to be Atlanta Redux and relocate to QC without much warning, this scenario makes even more sense.

I'm sure it has been answered before, but why exactly does PKP need to pay 230 million to purchase and relocate the Coyotes when TNSE purchased and relocated the Thrashers for 170 million?

...ya, I mean seriously now, just think it through for a few minutes. Why would PKP agree to dropping $60M more than TNSE?. I dont know if youve ever done business in Quebec Ludwig, tell ya what though, if their spending on you or your product and you then expect them to kiss your ass for the favor you arrogantly decide your doing for them?. Well guess what?. The Surete' will escort you to the airport, the border with New Brunswick, Ontario or the US. The business community in that province is hypersensitive to any air of english superiority, in fact watch & wait for it, then yer screwed. The doors start closing. If Bettman tried that on an old fox like PKP he'd pay the price for it, made to sweat it out for his disrespect & intransigence no matter how much PKP wants/needs a franchise. He'll get one alrighty, and he'll get one on his terms.

.... the chosen one in Reinsdorf walks, they spend months entertaining IEH & Hulsizer, cant move the franchise when they wanted to last spring due to Atlantas' implosion & now this. The one possibility that does make some sense as postulated by CasualFan some time ago was "what if" PKP had a hard deadline of March or April 15th combined possibly with some differences pursuant to pricing, relo fee's & terms?. Its a buyers market. These deadlines eclipsed by the Coyotes playoff run, the uncertainty of even a full season next year. Its quite possible the leagues in a real jam with no other option but to facilitate a local sale because theyve got nowhere to go.

Oh whenever I see the words "chosen one" I think of Kung Pow Enter The Fist.

Could this video be representative of secret meeting in the bowels of GWI's HQ with the ever benevolent GWI leader telling his minions a clever joke...??

Rick and the Old Man wouldn't buy the 'yotes though...

The best I can do on this is $50 million and I mean I have to get this thing restored because it's in rough shape, it's going to sit around for a long time taking up space and I might not even be able to make any money off of it..

Sounds like exactly what they would say...lol

Actually TNSE initial deal with Atlanta was 170 million to Atlanta but Garry made the Thrashers owners take a 60 million haircut to get BoG approval and the NHL grabbed that 60 million in relocation fees! Why would PKP pay more? The Yotes just reached the conference final so the league can claim that he getting a better on ice product. It a lot better to pay 230 million on an existing team than 200 million two years down the road for an expansion team and the right to draft players the rest of the league just don't want anymore.

These are some interesting examples that you are comparing to.

Credit Card companies - This is not a valid comparison as they are not selling anything. They are loaning you credit, but you do not own any part of their company.

Owner Financed real estate - Are you really comparing the NHL loaning money to GJ to a real estate owner selling their property to a bunch of dead beats. The irony just drips off this comparison.

Afghani warlords - Again, are you really comparing this situation to drug dealers trying to make money by pushing their products.

I understand that you want to defend the Coyotes and this situation at all costs, but you are really reaching here.

Afghani warlords - new team name for when the yotes move to Kabul? It is a desert over there.

...No Credit?. Bad Credit? Are you so broke even yo' Momma wont lend you money?.

The indian reservation bank will loan you money at only 86.6% Much better than a payday loan!!

I think they limit it to 1000 posts per topic or around that.... I could be wrong though.

You are correct sir!!

You watch too much Pawn Stars. Maybe GJ can go there and pawn the franchise?

Holy cow. Was there a million posts today?

I don't want to read all the posts but based on the number of "relocationists" posts and the lack of posts from Coyote fans, can I assume it was a bad day for Glendale?

Don't see how it was. Jamison found his major investor, and not an apparent peep out of GWI.

Last question... Who was the major investor? A brief summary please, Dado.
