Again, love Phil, great guy, great competitor, great defensively in general. NO OFFENSIVE TALENT OR VISION.

2 goals and 11 points in his last 24 games... Outplayed and outscored by a rookie.

Good think that we were playing for a playoff spot.
I can't be mad at him. He's in way over his head for what he's being asked, despite being a good player. He's the kind of local guy we should keep. He's a great guy for the locker room and a coaches dream.

But anyone who praises him, yet used to criticize Koivu deserves all the scorn they can get.

So Danault is reverting back to his 40 points self as soon as he doesnt get 100% Gallagher ?

Damn, who couldve predicted that, I really wonder.

Nah bruh these cats rip on danault even when we win, rightfully so, he is so overhyped by MTL media and people who don't follow any other teams . Love me some dunno and he really does have some great games but he's a passenger on most nights, I don't blame him though he's not a top 6 center on a good team that's not his fault that's just how it's been for years in Montreal guys playing way over their head

Doesn’t this post just sum up the failures of this team. Always asking for players to step up. Instead of thrive where you belong.

“Three 2nd lines” is better then a 1st, 2nd, 3rd line don’t you know. Have balance. No superstars just balance

Tatar Danault and Gallagher is a very solid line, rest of the team , not so much, I personally don't think danault slotted there is a problem right now since god knows wtf Domi has been doing this year, not like he deserves both of our best wingers over danault despite a fantastic season last year, just hasent brought that same energy, really the only one with a case to take danaults spot now or in the near future is Suzuki, maybe KK but I'm not so sure, I'd love to keep danault on a good contract but this team needs first line talent because at the end of the day we just don't have the horses to compete with the stud forwards in our division

Far cry from the 65 you were talking about a month ago

The point is, hes being carried heavily by Gallagher and Tatar and this last stretch is a direct validation of this.
Still closer than 65 than 40... hes absolutely not getting carried by Gally and Tatar. I've seen enough games to know that. They all help each other.

Loses Gallagher for 20 games
Production falls down .20

NOt cARRiEd ?!?!?1

What do you call the increase in production then?

The point is that he produces like a third liner when away from top 6ers, even with top 6 icetime.

Well he has 9 points in his last 13 games which doesn't seem so bad.

If being outscored over the past 24 games by rookie Suzuki is the benchmark, then the only good player we have is Tatar as every other player on the team has been outscored by Suzuki over that stretch.

The point is that ever since Gally got injured, Danault doesnt produce anymore. Unless you believe injuries dont require any rehabilitation and that Gallagher is 100%. I count those games as "Not Gallagher".

The production dip correlates with the injury to Gallagher and theres no amount of insults that will make this go away.

Nice job thinking Gally is the only one playing through an injury. Poor guy, must have never ever happened to any athlete in the history of sports. Especially not danault who got hit in the face with a puck and left the game recently.

Lol what. Hes still on pace for 55 points.
NO NO and NO !!! :soap:
It's impossible , he can't and anyway, all his points were just pure luck, or because Gallagher did everything by himself - even when he wasn't playing because injured :eviltongu
Danault isn't good, he's nothing in this team and Bergevin should trade him to get a first round draft, a good ready blue prospect and another role player :madfire::madfire::madfire:

Yeah, you are right, it does not look that bad, until you realize that they were mostly scored against average teams. He did nothing against Washington, Toronto, Boston, Pittsburgh. Suzuki had a point against them(4 games 4 points)... But that's nitpicking.

I expect my first line centre to be better than a rookie playing with one good winger.

You still think that we can't say that Suzuki is better than Danault offensively ?

Has anyone claimed that Danault is better offensively then Suzuki?
