I like seeing New England suffer, but this actually sucks because Philly doesn't play NE until late in the season and Dallas plays NE in week 5, with that only being NE's 4th game meaning Dallas plays against a Tom Brady free team. Hoping the suspension gets reduced by a game somehow.

@FakeHaslam: Patriots will have to start a season without a quarterback. Big deal, the Browns do that every year.

You know, at first I was thinking, wow that's a crazy harsh penalty, but they suspend guys for using PEDs for 4 games.

Using PEDs = Cheating
Cheating 1st Time = 4 Game Suspension

Is this REALLY any different?

I do think this ruling makes the Ray Rice initial ruling even more laughable on Goodell's part.
not really
whatever ray rice did off the field [and a lot of guys do bad things off the field], it didn't have any impact on the actual integrity of the game, which this cheating absolutely does...

How do you say Brady got screwed or this penalty is too harsh? He cheated and then lied about, and continues to lie about it (unless you believe the Patriots fans that this is a set up to take down Tom Brady). If he really did nothing wrong, he should have cooperated. Without cooperating with the investigation, all they can do is have circumstantial evidence. If you never spoke to this guy...let us see your records that show you never spoke to him. If you never told anyone to do it, prove it. You don't get to say, "**** this I did nothing wrong I am not going to be part of your investigation." Then when the investigation comes out say, "This is a ******** one-sided investigation based on circumstantial evidence." Of course it is...because you forced it to be that way. This isn't a court of law so they don't have to find you guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, they just have to find you guilty.

Never thought i'd support Goodell but god damn do I support him against the Patriots. Their fan base is unreal. Talking about how Robert Kraft is "out of his mind with anger" and how he's going to raise hell against the NFL. Good luck, you're one owner. Other owners have came out and supported the punishment. The smugness of the entire organization from the top down to it's fans is unreal.

There are Patriot fans crowd funding to pay for the $1 million fine. Anyone who donates to a billionaire to pay for a drop in the bucket for CHEATING is a freaking tool. What a bunch of mo's. Enjoy your illegitimate championships.

The Patriots are known for bending the rules. It's no wonder they are under a microscope now. Deal with it.

Maybe Rinaldo can help them handle with this situation...

Their fan base is a joke.

"Go get me Pats lawyers!":laugh::laugh:

Brady's legacy is tarnished. He's a lying, cheating joke.

People have gone off the deep end about this.
yeah

but...anyone else catch the segment at some point this past week or so where the espn nfl guys had a bunch of balls inflated at brady-levels and normal-levels and the talking-heads/former players [carter and keyshawn] were both immediately able to tell which balls were the deflated ones and which were the proper ones?

makes ya seriously questions the pats low fumble rate over the past few years...

How far below were they? 1 PSI or a .5 PSI?

1 PSI would be really huge, almost like 8% difference.

These were the measurements taken at half time according to the report (page 68). Blakeman and Prioleau are the guys who measured.

Ball Blakeman Prioleau
1 11.50 11.80
2 10.85 11.20
3 11.15 11.50
4 10.70 11.00
5 11.10 11.45
6 11.60 11.95
7 11.85 12.30
8 11.10 11.55
9 10.95 11.35
10 10.50 10.90
11 10.90 11.35

The lowest permissable boundary is 12.5 PSI. All Colts balls was within permissable range on at least one occassion.

I hate the Pats with a fiery passion, but this take by another physicist does make me question the evaluation conducted on the balls during the investigation. It is a fascinating read, and, in my mind, throws a wrench in all the Pats hate:

Michael Irvin thinks Eagles are the team to beat in the NFC East. He said Murray is a game changer and people are forgetting this.

I'll agree that MANY MANY MANY people have forgotten that the Eagles (if healthy) easily have the best running game in the NFL.

So much was talked about the draft and how only 1 WR was taken and all defensive players and no OL.

Did everybody forget the ridiculous talent that the Eagles possess at RB?
