I'm sure they will be.

The only question is who signs them.

- Would be a big shock if Allison doesn’t sign w/ the Flyers. He’s mentioned his desire to sign with the team in the recent past.
- Bill Meltzer mentioned the other week in one of his hockeybuzz column comment sections that the Flyers don’t anticipate there being a problem with signing Laczynski
- I don’t know if Kalynuk wants to sign for sure

I don't anticipate an issue with signing Laczynski either. Teams are going to line up for him. Chicago.

My Boi™ Mason Millman with the secondary on the game tying goal with 8 min left in the 3rd a few nights ago. Primary on the GWG with 3 seconds left. Not a big deal.

I don’t see why Laczynski wouldn’t sign here now. The prospect pool isn’t that deep anymore at forward and there is definitely room for him at the NHL level. I think Fletcher would absolutely burn a year off his contract to sign him.

I would be more worried about Kalynuk.

I remember talking to Wyatt's dad " Randy " the year there was talk of him being drafted . He said at the time that he was hoping Wyatt did not get drafted and that way if he kept progressing he could choose his best option . That was a while back and i don't know what kind of relationship the Flyers have with him but we will know this spring for sure . If he does not want to sign here then we could trade him to a team he will sign with and recoup a pick .

Either way we will know in a few months cause they will not let him become a 24.5 year old free agent , then probably lose him for nothing .

Have any of you guys watched Jack St. Ivany at least semi-regularly? I haven’t seen him play a game yet this season. Has he remedied his skating speed a bit? That was a pretty obvious issue of his in my viewings of him last season.

Anywho, he does stack up well via Involvement% vs his 1999 Born Draft+3 Season Defenseman Peers who are currently playing in the ECAC:

ECAC is a very low-scoring conference (at least it is this season).

Who is this TB character?

I’m a JSI fan. Not expecting top 4 because of the skating but I think he’s a pretty heads up player with some pretty good hand skill and a good shot. Does well as a PPQB at that level. Unless Therrien is still here I don’t think that is in his pro future, but it’s usually a good sign that a player holds that role from his freshman year on. Will lead Yale in D scoring however long he is there.

To your question I have only seen him play once this year as ECAC hockey is a chore to watch but saw him play a good bit last year. His edge work was fine (good even for a big guy) his feet were just a touch heavy in the open ice. I think those types can still have success, but positioning has to be a priority and it obviously limits the ceiling a bit. Think he could be an effective modern day third pair, “stay at home” type. There is enough skill in there to be able to kick off transition via the pass and keep cycles alive in the OZ.

Thanks. I appreciate your insights as always.
