Is this sarcasm?

Also, I don’t care if Cave is a “dime a dozen” player (which I’m not sure I agree with), it’s poor asset management to lose him for nothing.

Even if Cehlarik is an NHL player, I don’t believe he’s what they need in the Top 6 to compete for a title this year.

I am a Sweeney fan, but not a fan of this sequence of events.
Serious question. If no one is willing to give up an asset for Cave in a trade do you keep him on the roster the entire year then?

I don't think it's a big deal to lose a potential 3rd or 4th line guy especially when we have a ton of them already on the roster and when we signed him undrafted for no assets to begin with.

I don’t think Cehlarik is an either/or proposition as far as a trade goes. Do you think discussions will cease with the Blues now that the Savior has arrived?

People are setting expectations too high and setting up Cehlarik to fail IMO.
Or they’re excited to see how he does? I know I’m excited I don’t have to watch Backes on the 2nd line next game. Don’t you want this kid to succeed?

This is awesome to hear. Great attitude and work ethic even though it had to be frustrating too him, that its taken this long for him to get a another shot with the big Club.
At least we know now why he hadn't been called up. Love that Leach said he's working his butt off.

I'm not a big fan of him but admittedly, I haven't really seen him play much outside of when he was up the last time.

I still want nothing to do with Schenn at the price that's on these boards. Aim higher.

I'm not opposed to signing Stempniak soon and seeing what he has left. Play him with Bergeron, move Pastrnak down. We have more than a month to figure out 3C

Agreed. Cave is a very replaceable player,. Kind of hard to get a return when there's no market for it. Players like Cave are a dime a dozen and could be exposed to waivers at a blink of an eye.

Heck its along season, wouldn't be surprised too see him back on there.

I liked him when he was up in Boston. Thought he brought energy and showed skill. Hopefully he's up to stay!

Come on Feb 25th .This team has battled their tails off through injuries and lack of help from management.Feb 25th either proves he can do this job or exposes him because holes in Bruins roster have been there since Tampa series .Do not want to hear excuses because its a buyers market this year finally.:tvhappy:

Shhh

Be patient.

Donny is still evaluating and kicking tires, and now with so many teams being sellers, its making it difficult and so confusing on which tires to kick.

Would love for him to succeed, but as usual here on HF, I believe people have built him up as something he’s not. Then when he doesn’t meet unrealistic expectations, they will shit all over him.

Kind of like they did with Cave, who would have been a good 4th liner imo, and should not have been asked to play 2C.

The ideal spot to bring Cehlarik into would have been the 3rd line instead of Donato, with Heinen and a legit 3rd line NHL C. Cehlarik loses his waiver exemption after this year, so it would have been preferable (for me anyway) if the B’s had given him a shot right out of camp (instead of Donato) to see what they had earlier in the season.

Regardless of how expendable people think Cave is, losing him on waivers was not good asset management.

Cehlarik first NHL point was against the Canadiens, Making Mcquaid look like Mike Bossy/Brett Hull with a beautiful saucer pass.
And scores his first NHL goal, by going to the net something the bruins diffidently need more of.

Can someone clarify if Cehlarik is sent down ... he would need to clear waivers? If not at what point does this happen

From Sportingnews hockey...
Peter Cehlarik has been called up by Boston.
Cehlarik was on the ice for Tuesday's practice. The Bruins lost Colby Cave to Edmonton via the waiver wire and there are some injury concerns with Jake DeBrusk (lower body) and Chris Wagner (illness) missing from Tuesday's skate. Cehlarik has 10 goals and 29 points in 37 games for Providence of the AHL this year. Jan 15 - 1:07 PM

Ok fans, those who are and have been drum beaters for Cehlarik are now on alert, I hope/wish he does nothing short of bringing a new/different dimension to forward crew. I have my doubts, was neither unimpressed nor nearly as impressed as so many here seem to be with with PC. He clearly has earned this chance but I better see something or I`m PM`ing every one of you who posted page after page that this guy should be in the NHL if he doesn`t perform:laugh:

Question is, who sits or is Jake injured?

If Cehlarik can stick around and do a good job on Krejci's wing it makes trading for a 3C a lot easier
So the guy who can't crack the line up and has not been able to score in the NHL is the answer for 2RW on a contending team? Really? Nothing like overrating the prospects. Then again we have some on here who think Alexander Khokolacev is the answer and should be signed regardless of cost so......

Jake is really mysteriously injured after being taken to task by the coach? Hmmm
