I've been wanting Sully on the hot seat since the Pens got swept by the Isles, and outright fired after the Habs play-in that *counted as a playoff appearance. You'll get no argument from me about wanting the guy gone.

I'm just resigned to the fact that he's adored by the organization, and extremely highly regarded around the NHL. Dude's gonna be here until he doesn't wanna be anymore. I could easily see him getting a new contract after this one ends.

I'm just hoping he's not the guy in charge of molding the next generation of top picks and their game.

It might be one of the most desirable places to play, but this isn't pre-lockout days where they can collect Lindros/Leetch/Messier/Bure/Holik. Plus, they have too many young, promising players from within.

That would be a horrible deal for Chicago. Trouba is still a bad contract despite the hype around his elbow and Kakko got HS’d and generally sucks.

I think he would have been fired if the GM and management didn’t change 2 years in a row. Now your right and he will be tied to this shipped until the rebuild

NYR love their NMC's.

I mean - it is that hard for them. They have barely any cap space and several players due for raises now AND next season. Granted I have not put their full puzzle together:

- 3.5M dead space in buyouts this year that fall off next year
- Miller and Laffy each in final year of ELCs
- Currently have 9 forwards in total under contract
- Currently have 10M in space.
- Need a backup goalie, need 7th D, need reserve forwards.
