I read that he scored 11 of those points in a 15 game stretch when Kesler and Getzlaf were out. While that's a good stretch, it definitely screams fluke to me. Still, 13 points in 51 games is not terrible, but I think it is a lot closer to Rowney/Kuhn levels if those guys didn't have to play with each other and Reaves for most of the year. It took him until his 27 age season to really break into the NHL, so I' keeping my expectations low. I don't think this signing affects the team until there are injuries.
Having said that, I like adding C depth. It's a lot easier to ask a C to play W than vice-versa. He adds size. He's good on the dot. He's cheap. No need to worry about scratching him most nights since he's not a young, developing player. Low risk-low reward signing.
