This is a very nice signing. You have to think Jimmy has a deal worked out for a wing after signing all of these centers.

Seems like depth overkill. He’s not even a righty. Though he’s coming off a good year for a 4th liner, unlike Kuhn & Rowney.

Yeah he's not getting minutes unless we have multiple injuries. That's both good and bad.

Absolutely love the Grant signing. This does a couple things, one I think Brassard spends more time on the wing then in the middle. Two, this is insurance against Cullen struggling to be the 4c. Grant will never be confused as a 3rd liner, but he should be a good 4c. One thing is certain... Sprong and Simon have some real competition for ice time.

i had no idea who he has, looked him up and was pleasantly surprised, 12g 12a in 66 games last year...that's fantastic. If he comes anywhere close to that on our team, i'll post a naked photo of me here. You can all revel in my 320 pounds of glory....only few have been so lucky to do so.

Cool. Not making too much of his season last year. Looking at the rest of his career he wasn't a huge point producer in the AHL until '15-16. Seems like a late bloomer, but we will see if last season is repeatable. Still, our C depth is lightyears better than last offseason so I'm stoked.

Didn't he play top 6 minutes last year when basically all of Anaheim's centers got hurt? I think thats where most of his scoring came from.

The team is so crowded up front that I can't see him getting anything more than fourth line minutes, and maybe PK duties. But then again, you can never rule anything out with Sullivan.

Probably.

Maybe we're planning on running an all-center fourth line of Cullen-Sheahan-Grant.

This strikes me as the Pens building plenty of depth upfront. I'm just not sold as to the QUALITY.

Interesting the Ducks didn't bring him back, but gave a bunch of money and term to Rowney. I guess they valued Rowney's C/RW ability more than Grant's C/LW.

Apparently he played some bigger minutes and some PP for a stretch, yes, but he still put the biscuit in the basket.

Our center depth is crazy right now, especially compared to last year at this time when we had like two legit NHL centers on the roster.

Probably.

He’ll be playing next to Geno after a week, just like Kuhn was....as long as he brings good coffee....

Heard a funny story (well not for Grant). He fought one of the other teams enforcers and lost pretty badly. He then got cut from the team (not sure which team) and then his team traded for the guy who beat him up.
