I was wondering if this was ever going to get done. AVV isn't bad, less than most of us were projecting when playing Armchair GM. Would have like a little more term, but it is what it is. This leaves us with a little over 900K for one more forward barring a trade.

Not bad, I guess.

Like Jacob said, I don't know if he's worth it, but people were talking like he was going to get more. I think he's an average 3rd line center. I guess the going rate is around 3 mil these days.

It's okay. I'd still rather he get moved for an upgrade in the top six, and rely on some kind of combination of Goc/Spaling as the bottom six centers.

I'll be interested to see what his salary is in year 2 when he's UFA.

I've seen Sutter called anywhere from a 2C to barely a 3C. What is he?

If hockey was an RPG with preset character stats based on character race, Brandon Sutter would be a human. Deliciously average.

I think I read that it means we're 900k under the cap for next season with this.

I think that is with Dupuis and Maatta on LTIR though.

He's a proven 3C who some believe has the upside to be a low-end 2C. If he gets dealt, I'm hoping the other team believes the latter as it will obviously yield more in return.

So, the defensemen... there's too many once Maatta is back and calling Dumoulin up instead of Samuellson means a little under 1M of cap space until Maatta replaces Dumoulin and to drops to .93M. Tight but doable with no wiggle room... still too many defensemen.

About what I expected for him. I'm happy that its not a one year deal. Hopefully he can play like he did during the playoffs for the regular season.

I'm ok with this. Though I would have preferred a 3 year deal. Will be nice to see what he can do with actual NHL caliber players now. He'll be playing with some combination of Spaling, Dupuis, Bennett, and Downie. Which is miles better than what he dealt with last year.

A healthy 23-man roster doesn't give us enough cap space for an injury call-up, even if the 13th forward is Sill. It also means we'll lose Sammy to waivers. I think we still have to make a move.
