Anyone have a suggestion for a super low end graphics card. Literally the only thing it needs to do is output video via VGA, or DVI. I gave my parents my old Core 2 Duo build that they use for internet browsing and the GPU died. I'd prefer to not spend more than 20, or 30 bucks.

so ive been needing to buy a new controller for a while and the releases of WWE 2K19 and Forza 4 have made me pull the trigger

I was gonna get another Dual Shock 4 but when I went to purchase, the price on Amazon had gone from £35 to £50, so I decided to buy a Gamesir G4S. I wanted to buy the G3S for the longest time as I really wanted a controller I could use with my phone too, opted with the G4S thought cause it looks like it has a nicer build and quality as well as the phone holder being intergrated

should be here in a day or 2 so ill post a review of it (both PC and Android functionality)

nVidia GT610 or GT710 should be fine, if literally all you need is video output

Is it possible that the motherboard has onboard graphics and you just forgot? I commonly do that. Since I never use the onboard graphics, I tend to forget that I even have it.

They really have to stop doing that.

At least call it an RX 575 or something.
I have been cheering for AMD, but crap like that makes it hard to want them to succeed. I just have to keep reminding myself that a healthy AMD is good for customers. They pulled the same crap with the 560.

booted up Forza Horizon 4 to check it out before my controller arrives

gotta say im shocked at how well it runs given what a monumental turd FH3 was. im hovering around 100fps with a mixture of high core settings and medium eyecandy settings. not often a poor port gets a fantastic port sequel

Due to space constraints for a desk and room size, and since I don't have a ton of money to drop $300 on a Creative Katana sound bar, I'm going to be replacing my 5.1 Logitech X530s with Logitech Z623s (or at least trying to). This will be the first time I've been without surround sound for about... well since 2005 ish. Should be... interesting.

Yeah I’ve had it running really smoothly on my 1060. Very impressed. If anything my gripe is that it doesn’t kick me into Horizon Solo automatically when my connection dips, so I get a bit of lag slingshotting me all over the screen.

Yeah, I think that's the card I'll be targeting as well. Waiting to see what the Black Friday prices look like next month.

Yep, out of all the 1070 it's I've looked at that's the one that stands out for aesthetics and quality.

I hope it drops below $400.

ah yes the Gamesir G4S

Pros
- Easily the most comfortable controller in the hand ive ever owned
- Face buttons and shoulder buttons very satisfyingly clicky
- Solid analogue sticks. they float easier than other brands but its not an issue whatsoever
- Relatively easy to set up on PC and android (had one issue pairing with phone while PC dongle was plugged in)
- Rubber side grips feel both grippy but not uncomfortable. nice feel.
- LED battery indicators are nice, in an era where they arent as common as they should be
- Integrated phone clamp works nicely, holds phone in place well. Ive had one slip out but I think it wasnt in all the way
- Nice inbuilt cubby for the wireless dongle if you need to transport it
- Fully charged battery lasts a really good amount of time.

Cons
- D-Pad is fine but the down and left keys arent as clicky as the up and right on mine and require a firmer press to activate
- Very VERY slight input lag on PC using the dongle. Depends what your playing, but it made reversals and kickouts in WWE2k19 quite hard as the timing is SUPER precise. had to switch to cable
- Start and Select keys feel a bit mushy, but they arent used so often at least
- Phone clamp only has two angles. they work fine but a bit more freedom (which the G3S clamp actually has) would be preferable
- Included Gamesir World and Happy Chick apps are a little janky at times, but the free selection of emulated games on the Happy Chick app is a nice touch

Early GTX 2070 numbers look very solid. Passmark scores just behind the 1080 Ti.

2070 vs 1070 comparison in a bunch of games. About 20-25% FPS jump:

I don't know if I'm going to be able to do it, but I may really wait to get a GPU. I want the newest and best one that comes closest to the release date of Cyberpunk. Or if AMD gets off their ass and makes something amazing next year.

It certainly looks like the value chip of the 20 series thus far.

Which is still a little unfortunate, considering that 20-25% FPS jump over the 1070 comes at a ~30% increase in MSRP.

***Level 1 gamer alert*** please be nice.

1) What is the cheapest place for computer accessories? (mechanical keyboards, mouse, screen, etc)

2) what's the cheapest way to get a PC with a 1080 graphics card?

Canada? I wouldn't know anymore. Their retail market had a big upheaval when NCIX went to crap.
I like Newegg because the website is easy to use. So I'll often use it as a starting point.

If you know what you're looking for, you can punch it into PCPartpicker.com and it will compare prices for you.

2) what's the cheapest way to get a PC with a 1080 graphics card?

I guess that would describe your budget then.

There's a couple desktops on newegg.ca with 1080's in them for $1600. So that's probably as good a place to start figuring out the budget.
CyberpowerPC Gaming Desktop Gamer Master 2787X Ryzen 7 2nd Gen 2700X (3.70 GHz) 8 GB DDR4 1 TB HDD 240 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Windows 10 Home 64-Bit - Newegg.ca

What I would do is start picking parts individually and see if you can build it cheaper/better for the same money. You might not be able to, the prices are kinda nutty these days.

But if you're just interested in buying one, compare it to other places.

You might also consider the RTX 2070, the Vega 64, and the GTX 1070 ti. All are pretty well around the 1080.
The Vega 64 is just a little behind the 1080, and the 1070 ti just a little behind the Vega 64. But mostly within 5-10% of each other though some games vary much wider. The 2070 is slightly faster than the 1080.

Depends what kinda monitor resolution you're looking into for which one I'd pick.

I recommend Amazon. They almost always have the lowest prices and they offer free shipping on orders over $25US/$35CDN. It's also the smartest place to shop for accessories because the reviews are invaluable in determining which meet your needs and which to stay away from.
