I couldn't help myself. Wandered over to the main board to read all the hot takes on the Selke finalists. Bad idea.

But here's a fun fact: Couturier's dad was an assistant coach for Bergeron's junior team (the only full year he played for them). So Coots Jr. was probably around 10 at the time.

And then there's this from a few years ago:

Bergeron helps save his QMJHL team. Perfect.

According to this CBC report and Radio-Canada's Francois Le Blanc, Bergeron, Roberto Luongo, Bruno Gervais, Sean Couturier, and Mathieu Perreault will all be part of a new 28+ member group of investors lead by local steel businessman Leopold Theriault who are buying the team from former owner/general manager Leo-Guy Morrissette.

Nothing but a concussion makes sense, with the Plekanec hit being the obvious culprit. Just so very frustrating. He knows the danger and takes great precautions to protect himself and then something like this, as inconspicuous as it looked, does it.

I kind of agree but hoping the 20 percent chance it is something else comes true . Concussion would mean end of series or at the least only game 7 in play . Hopefully he some how got hurt in practice yesterday and they decided night off would do a lot of good .

anyone have a clip of this plekanec hit? I didn't even notice it during the game.

Could it be shoulder instead of consussion? Gotta think if it was a concussion he would have been day to day as of Tuesday, not a sudden, late scratch 3 days later.

I sincerely, sincerely hope that's the case. If Patrice has a concussion... I can see the Leafs and their fans giddy at the opportunity this would afford.

If Plekanec is responsible, my fury goes through the roof.

Patrice Bergeron might have been a late scratch for Game 4 of the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but there's a chance that Bruins center might be back in the lineup on Saturday.
Speaking after the Bruins' 3-1 win over the Maple Leafs Thursday, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy noted that Bergeron's upper-body injury has been an issue that he has been dealing with for some time, adding that there's a chance his top-line center might be good to go for Game 5 at TD Garden. Sounds like it's not a concussion? :thumbu:

It could be worse than a concussion. I don’t want to be too negative but something like a shoulder injury could linger longer than a concussion. I wouldn’t mind if he sat out Saturday.

Didn't Cassidy say it was something he's been dealing with for awhile now? Perhaps the Plekanec hit aggravated it. If it's something he's been dealing with for awhile (and still playing and practicing), doesn't sound at all like a concussion.

He was rocked in game 3 and I remember seeing him on the bench looking a little dazed. I'm sure that was the cause of the injury no matter what it is. I'm leaning toward concussion symptoms.

There's no way they are letting him play while dealing with concussion syndromes. That's career threatening.

They said it’s something they’ve been dealing with for a while. He wouldn’t have been practicing or talking to the media yesterday afternoon if it was concussion related
