trocheck is a very good center. can put up 40-50 in a season despite being one dimensional. he is a black hole for wingers tho, because his production breaks down the moment the defense stacks the blue line. he can't make it further than 5 feet inside the 0 zone without a turnover because he is trapped and had no business breaking in with his wingers in the position they are in.

You cant say he is a good center then say he is a black hole for wingers. Part of being a center is getting your wingers involved.

He is also takes too many risks to be good defensively.

He had one good defensive season under Gallant (and was his best season by far) and he had one really good offensive at the cost of being horrific defensively.

ETL beat me to it
Q sees it. Trocheck is not a good center

Malgin is better suited to play C under Q's system than Trocheck. He reads the play better and is more composed and patient with the puck. Trocheck is a straight line player and seems to want to rush in carrying the puck forward. It makes sense to try him at wing.\

Edit: Scratch that...looks like he's playing C tonight after all.

wtf.. Why? Boyle has to be injured. He's 59% in the faceoff circle
He can still take the faceoffs, but Boyle is slow and he has a hard time backchecking against quicker teams.
In anycase, the second and third line haven't been that productive and a shakeup can help things.

I don’t get this obsession with putting Brian Boyle in the top six. If they really want to shake things up, how about:

Huberdeau-Barkov-Dadonov
Hoffman-Malgin-Connolly
Vatrano-Acciari-Trocheck
Hunt-Boyle-Sceviour

Hoffman and Malgin could be a good combination, worth a shot. Malgin is good at maintaining puck possession and entry, and Hoffman has not been good at those things lately.

But but but but... Those players don't care or work, how did they do that stuff ? Impossible !

Dude... Are you sure you don't have some weird filter on your browser that only shows posts from last year? The vast majority of fans here notice a big attitude change and more 'give a shit' with this team. Very few question their commitment and desire this year.

aslong they start scoring in the Line depth they can try out as much but when one line is starting thing is done. But the scoring from the depth and Line combination wasnt go well.
For my own the Veteran line Connolly, Boyle, Hoffmann looked good, also the Trocheck, Malgin Line in the matter of playing against the Puck.
