It's becoming nearly impossible to have a reasonable discussion about the coach on this forum.
So, ask yourself this question: why hasn't anyone tried this in the last 8 years????

I'd guess it's because that's sort of a silly rule. You shouldn't decide when to shoot based on an arbitrary number of passes before. You shoot when you have a good lane. Forcing players to shoot after one or two passes no matter the scenario is a good way to get your shots blocked and/or take bad shots that lead to turnovers.

That's merely a sarcastic observation, not truth. If Torts doesn't want them to be the worst scoring team in the league, perhaps he should start coaching offense.

It's Torts system man! He hates offense! He doesn't want us to score goals. JAM JAM JAM. He loves Boyle, even though he scratches him, and Bickel...even though he was waived.... but JAM JAM JAM.
And he was mean to Sean Avery! He hates offense, nobody can score under his system! Gaborik will never score 40 goals under...oh...wait...right. Well he doesn't coach offense! We heard him say it once! Just look at the past few seasons, where we've been last in goal scoring consis..tent...ly. Oh. um....
