Maybe he will pull a Lindros.

The young UFA age means it's not profitable to do this anymore.

How long would he have to sit out to get re drafted? LOL poor kid.

The route he'd have to take is do 4 years of college and then sign with whatever team for 5 years, reaching UFA age at 27. Whereas if he signs with Edmonton he gets paid for 7 years and reaches UFA at 25.

no way he does. he even said in person multiple times he doesn't believe in that. would make him look bad too.

Being Edmonton (the way they have been run) I don't think anybody would blame him.

At least Edmonton gets to raise another banner.

at least he's out west. I'm so thankful he didnt end up in toronto...

i think the coyotes take strome at 3rd now, they still need that top center. hanifin at 4, marner at 5.

i wonder if they trade draisaitl now that he'll be 3rd line center at best. and maybe yakupov too to address the D.

I would trade RNH over Draisaitl. You'll get a better return.

Well at least the NHL proved that the draft lottery isn't rigged.

Can't imagine a worse outcome for the league than this.

the question now is; where does hanifin whind up? is he dropping til 6th?

EDM: McDavid - No brainer
BUF: Eichel - Consolation prize
ARI: Strome - Already have an ace on defense, but no potential #1C
TOR: Marner - Toronto is stupid and will pick offense (what they believe is BPA)
CAR: Hanifin - Carolina sees Hanifin drop, take him and run
NJD: Crouse - Big, powerful Lamoriello type guy
PHI: Provorov - They pick based on needs as well and they're very skinny on defense
CBJ: Rantanen - Another huge foward with top-six potential, fits with Johansen down the road (Finnish GM will take the Finnish stud in the top 10)
SJS: Werenski - Like their depth at foward, but need to add more on defense
COL: Barzal - Won't allow a talent like Barzal to drop any further, plus they probably think they need scoring.
FLA: -------> Imo, we should choose one of Pavel Zacha (CZE), Timo Meier (SUI) and Travis Konecny (CAN)
