I was taken aback by the arbitration ask and that some people think he's work anywhere near $7-8M a year. Where have I been the last 4 years when he's put up 4 straight 20 goal, 50 point seasons and 3/4 above 60 points?
His injury history is my only concern.
His points per game over the last four years is very good. Similar to Huberdeau (another oft-injured player). What makes Stone far better than Huberdeau is that he is an exceptional player in his defensive game and in his takeaway abilities. He's right up there with Panarin in that stat. He could be a perennial Selke candidate from here on.
I don't think his performance last year was any kind of fluke, I'd pay him $7-8m.
