So around April of 2012, this group tried to have a separate bid:

Glendale officials also looked at two other possible bids for the Coyotes. One from a Canadian group and another cash offer from an international investment group.

Then Jamison tried to merge the bids into his group late last year:

with his only known investors, the Ice Edge group of Canadian and U.S. businessmen

Then someone convinced this investor to back out, essentially killing Jamison's deal.

Jamison either lost investors late in the process over management of team

Shortly, this group became the lead candidate:

a new, deep-pocketed investor emerged who demanded a controlling interest

Well all guessed its was Treliving or Gallacher. But its actually George Gosbee who wanted controlling interest; interest that Jamison did not want to give. A little background can be found here:

New suitor emerges for Coyotes

http://www.foxsportsarizona.com/nhl...merges-for-Coyotes?blockID=885387&feedID=3702

A source familiar with the situation confirmed to FOX Sports Arizona late Wednesday that AltaCorp Capital chairman and CEO George Gosbee is working with long-involved suitor Anthony LeBlanc on a proposal that will be presented to the NHL shortly. The two are part of what the source believes is the lead group in the attempt to purchase the long-rudderless franchise.

Darren Dreger of TSN reported Wednesday night that the NHL is continuing to fight to keep the club in Glendale, but short of a deal soon, a decision to relocate the Coyotes to another city could come before the playoffs begin April 30. Quebec City, Seattle and Kansas City are among the cities mentioned as possibilities.

According to the source, Gosbee and LeBlanc are working on a deal that would keep the Coyotes in Glendale, and although it is expected that any group purchasing the team would seek an out clause to relocate the team if it cannot remedy the franchise’s long-standing financial issues, the source said “that hasn’t been discussed†to this point.

And the Canadian version for those of us who don't habla...

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/gosbee-on-verge-of-deal-to-purchase-coyotes/

The key investor is Albertan George Gosbee, who is leading a small group of investors, including Anthony LeBlanc and his former Ice Edge partners.

They have been in close contact with the league and are considered one of, if not the lead group. Word is they could finalize a proposal as early as the end of next week.

I would just hate to have the job that constantly has to update the Coyotes Wikipedia page.

In response to the Thrashers fan who asked how we can keep going to games, we figured out a long time ago that we aren't in danger of relocating. Gary Bettman has been running a fantasy camp for NHL owners here in Phoenix that has turned out to be more profitable than running an actual NHL team. Phoenix was the perfect location to fly Canadian "billionaires" down to during the dead of winter, let them hang in the owners box for a week, heck, if they sprung for the "platinum" package they even got a dinner with Shane Doan. Consider the old adage "a boat is just a hole in the water you pour money into" so why buy the boat when you can rent it?

There was always the danger of relocating as Bettman has said in the past with his "relocation is a last resort" remark he said in a phone conversation with Strader and Pang in the season before the bankruptcy filing. The NHL just found ways to getting the masses thinking that there was no relocation threat at all.

Until I see a statement from Gosbee, I will be firmly convinced he's just another Treliving or Gallacher. Somebody who has nothing at all to do with this mess and had their names dragged into it by individuals intentionally trying to deceive people with outright lies.

This is a very legitimate bid folks.

cli·ché
noun \klē-ˈshā, ˈklē-ˌ, kli-ˈ\

1: something that has become overly familiar or commonplace
2: a trite phrase or expression; also : the idea expressed by it
3: a hackneyed theme, characterization, or situation

That about sums it up.

What is it they say about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?

Believe what you like. I'm born and raised in Calgary, Lived there 26 years, been here for 4 years. Fan of the Coyotes since 1999.

This is probably the most legitimate bid we have seen, I loved Jamison but the guy came to the table with no money.. this bid has serious cash behind it to start things off.

None of us are questioning if you are a fan or not.

Just because someone has the cash to buy something, that doesn't mean they are going to do a withdrawl and put the cash into play. To this day Reinsdorf was the only real deal(before the bankruptcy filing)and he isn't as rich as this guys name being thrown around.

What motivates you guys to keep going to games? Here in Atlanta, it seems I was the only one outside the front office that new the Thrashers were doomed but for $440 I could get season tickets in the cheap seats, sit anywhere I wanted, and still see NHL hockey. ...

That's pretty much my story here. I can get quite good upper deck seats at $15 each, and I get to see NHL hockey. And hope springs eternal (and was finally rewarded last year)...

I've been a fan from the start. Even own an original sweater. I found the fact that your teams mere existence bothered so many people endearing.

Try wearing a Coyote sweater to the Air Canada Centre. Got some interesting reactions. Even got hassled by the border police: "where are you from?" "Phoenix" "where are you headed?" "Toronto. Leafs game." <gives me the stinkeye> "They still have hockey in Phoenix?" "Yup. Just proving we do exist."

As long as the NHL is asking $160 mil for a team thats only worth $129 mil. There will be no legitimate bids.

More like $ 170 M for a team that's worth $ 100 M, but yes, that sums it up.
