I don't want that to happen. I've been on the sell train. I just have a feeling either DD is going to stand pat or wait too long
If he waits too long the buyers may not have enough inventory left to give proper compensation....

That's what I am scared of. Especially if a team like Mississauga or Soo decides to just sell. Between Frost, Tippett, Vallalta, McLeod, Hayton, thats enough to soften the market.

that would be crazy if they all get moved...but also really cool to see the top teams get stacked

Same. Parity is fun.... Parity doesn't put fans in the seats though. Markets will sell out in the 2nd half to watch the super teams.

I'm of the same mindset on getting back some prospects. Add some young guys to build around the '01 goalies.

I am okay with even taking back a few 00's as long as it doesn't bring down the initial value by much. Get the best prospect or 2 you can in the deal but also get some bodies that we can bring in for next season and the year after to really help. Sort of like what Kitchener did by bringing in someone like Justin MacPherson.

Next year is going to be a fairly long season regardless.

Unfortunately that's the price for success.

To continue to progress forward sometimes you have to give up some key pieces to move forward for tomorrow.

If the right return comes back the other way in picks and youth to build around them then giving up a good piece this season will be worth it.

However don't expect DD to rush to the bargaining table quite yet. This season is becoming more and more like a chess match and the patience could pay big at the right time.

Sell has been the only option for the Attack since day 1 of this season. I said it then and took a ton of flack for it.

Nobody will make any big moves now until after the holidays. Watch for the players leaving to go home for the holidays with their equipment bag over their arm. That will tell you who's coming back and who isnt.

If the Attack play their cards right........in a few years they could be in the same position as Ottawa right now.
1.A team that can contend for a Memorial Cup
2.Lots if high level draft picks available.
3.Best Goaltender in the league.

Selling seems like a no brainer?

The Attack has one 16 yr old.

Disappointed the draft didn't yield more.

This will affect things in coming seasons.

Look what London got in return for Thomas, Miletic and Pu last year. Cupboards aren't full, and if they don't sell, the next 2-3 years are looking like hard times.

If Degray doesn't trade one of the following players for draft picks I hope he gets fired... Suzuki,Hancock,Durzi,Philips,Sushko,Guzda... the seasom is a write off.. we cant beat London, Ottawa, SOO, its clear and I said it over a month ago that it has to be a rebuild year.

Might be hard to trade Guzda unless he wants to leave. The way I understand it players in high school can only be traded if the player and his parents consent to it.

Guzda is 17, why ship him out? Binner and McNiven had their ups and downs at that age.

Totally agree. 2 decent 17 yr olds are the untouchables in my opinion. You've got plenty of options for trade. You dont trade either one of these guys unless you've got something great to replace them with

Those two will be the centerpiece of the rebuild
I agree, build around both 2001 goalies for the rebuild/retool. I'd be hesitant to deal one of them at this point, and then watch the one traded go on to excel with a new team. I think we still don't know what he have yet in either of them, so I'd prefer to hang on to them both for now. Nothing wrong with keeping them long term and having two quality veteran goalies (e.g., London with Kooy and Raaymakers).

I'm not buying the "2 decent 17 yr olds are the untouchables", "those two will be the centerpiece of the rebuild", "build around both 2001 goalies"...
Just my opinion but I don't think you BUILD AROUND two unproven goaltenders. There is no way this team should have broken camp this season with two 17 year old goaltenders, never mind neither being a proven #1. There is too much top end talent still on this team for that to have ever happened! As for the London comparison, they are a 20 and an 18 year old. Last year we all know that the goaltending issues cost us immensely and for this year, well it hasn't been smooth sailing. Good teams "build around" top end, proven talent. If either goaltender would have "run with the ball" this season we might have 3-4 more wins in the win column sitting in a much better place in league standings...

Stajcer's 17 year old #'s

Need to see numbers closer to these examples by then end of the season for the 2 we have.

Those are numbers you build around.

The difference is the save percentage.. the three you mention are basically all .900 our current goalies are .884 and .873...

Exactly. I think it's a fair comparison. If memory serves Stajcer probably had the worst team in front of him out of the 3 at 17. High GAA but still Save % above .900.

I support our guys. I just really hope to see one of them break out. It will be a great test if/when the team sells to see how these 2 handle the increased pressure.
