He's in the top 10 ever to play the game . Seeing him win a Cup is one of the most amazing things YOU, yes YOU, will ever see as a hockey fan. Beyond a shadow of a doubt....

Do I need to tell you why? Because of heart and soul, because of goals scored, because of passion and the blood, sweat and tears he's left on the ice....that's why he's top 10 :)

Nothing negative anyone can ever say about Ovechkin from now until the day he retires will mean shit to Caps fans, believe that!

LAS VEGAS -- Alex Ovechkin is a Stanley Cup champion. The "but" is dead.

He's no longer Dan Marino. Or Ted Williams. Or Karl Malone. He is a star player whose statistical achievements -- 607 goals, putting him 19th all time at 32 years old -- will never again be counterbalanced by the lack of a championship.

The 'but' stops here: Ovechkin's 14-year Cup chase is over

I'm actually happy for the Caps. Seeing Ovi lift the cup was great - his raw emotion this whole run was really refreshing to see.

i've seen like 5 of these comments and they are so dumb. he could have retired 4 years ago and still been a first-ballot hall of famer, you dinguses.

that's 10000% true. :thumbu:

However, if there was still that 1% (the dinguses you mentioned) remaining that even question whether he's HOF-worthy or not, I think this Cup Win erases that 1% and makes it a slam-dunk that he's going into the Hall.
