Get f***ed Toronto 8.5M is a 60pts player now.
You have a great point there. PLD has potential, and I was willing to pay for that. But what do guys regularly scoring 80 plus points or at least at that pace earn?

Nylander based on PLD's contract should be aiming for minimum 9.5.

Matthews will be bending that team over with a 14 mil per contract.

Colton to COL for the 37th pick. He had better numbers than Newhook last year.

Can we sell Ed, Edd & Eddy at 1.75m (50% retained) to Toronto?

He doesn’t have newhook’s upside but yeah Sakic looks like he fixed his 3C situation and got a late 1st to boot.

He had two more points than Newhook. He's also 26.

Newhook has 63 points and 27 goals in 153 games over the last two seasons.
Colton has 71 points and 38 goals in 160 games over the last two seasons.

Newhook is 4 years younger. Colton is one year away from UFA.

Let just say that in the end, Avs wanted a true 3rd liner. Still not convinced Newhook could do the job at that spot when they needed him or ever. While here, we hope he could be a 2nd liner.

So the Leafs plan is to bring back the big 4, mighty 4 etc. But will have to pay them more. I mean Nylander isn't a C but he is a heck of a lot more productive than PLD? So how does he not get $9M -$9.5M ?

And they are keeping the coach.

I have no doubt Treliving is looking at making moves? But at this moment in time it just looks ludicrous. And you have to wonder at not moving one of these underachieving 4 to boost the team elsewhere.

I am so happy about missing out on PLD, that I'll dedicate a song to Blake and Bergy.

Last summer at a festival saw this guy perform this song he wrote for the guy that stole his girlfriend, only to have her cheat on him as well. Sums up my feelings about this whole thing,

Colton is the perfect player you want on your third line - big, mean and who can give you a bit of offense.

We r not there yet, and there’s no point in paying a good price for a player like that now, but I hope we one day won’t have to have smurfs like Farrel ,RHP and Evans carry the third and fourth lines anymore.

... Are you sure you're talking about Ross Colton? He certainly has some jam, but he falls somewhere between Jake Evans and Christian Dvorak in terms of size. He's, like, smaller than Phil Danault, for whom the word "big" was never used to describe.

For the record I would have love to have someone like Colton, whose game lends itself much better to a 3rd or 4th line than Christian Dvorak. It doesn't quite make sense where we are in terms of team building, but it's the type of player I'd want there.
