How is the Toronto zoo ?
I don't get it. I understand Columbus had him uninsured but why in the hell would you ship him to Toronto? You could probably give somebody a pick and Horton to stick on LTIR and they would have done it for them. Probably get something better than Clarkson back too.
Awful.
The Blue Jackets will be covered by insurance for most of Horton’s salary — $6 million this season — once he misses the club’s 21st game of the season, on Nov. 25. Future seasons would work the same.
Any chance the Horton Clarkson deal is vetoed by the league??
TSN’s Bob McKenzie reports that it ultimately comes down to pure dollars: the Leafs can afford to pay Horton to not play (thus saving cap space with him on LTIR), while Columbus needs that money to go to someone who’s on the ice.
I dont see why.
Its, to me, no different than us trading Thomas to the Isles so they could reach the Cap floor.
But there is a rule agains us trading Savard or Philly trading Pronger is there?!?
As others said I guess it wouldn't have out unless the NHL approved it.
I don't think that's right.

Indefensible by Columbus.
CORRECTION:
Bob McKenzie says Horton's contract is not insured. Big market move by the biggest market team.
Brad has info of this.
Teams have a limited amount of contracts they can insure. Hortons was not one Col chose to insure.
