Oh shit FC Porto

An investigation is underway involving FC Porto. The club is suspected of falsifying covid tests. Searches are underway in the club buildings. These would be the tests of a player dating from January 2021. (

Back-to-back titles for Club Brugge, finally clinched :towel:

Needed a point at Anderlecht tonight, Vanaken (x2) and Noa Lang put them up 3-1 in the second half, Anderlecht did score a 94th minute equaliser with basically the last kick of the game
Genk staged a remarkable comeback with 13 out of 15 possible points so far, if Brugge would have lost tonight then we'd have a Brugge v Genk title decider on Sunday but thank God it won't come to that

What would Pep's and Klopp's complaints be like if they were forced to play in the CL with a line-up like that :)
Gallardo is a different breed. That win ensured 1st place in the copa lib. Some european team is going to be very lucky once he makes his way there. Hoping its France or Ajax.

Tbf we've been talking for years now about him going to Europe and it still hasn't happened, whats up with that?

No idea why he hasn't made the jump. Last year he was going for another Copa lib, I dont think he has the team to do it now so, he should be leaving soon. My guess is summer or the one after.

So most European leagues have been decided already, with a lot of the usual suspects winning their league (Dinamo Zagreb, Olympiacos, Malmo, Ludogorets, HJK, etc..)

But there are some that will go down to the wire, especially in Denmark with Brøndby (finally!) in pole position to win their first title since 2005, amazing it has been that long for a club that was this succesful from the late '80s to the early 2000's. I've always had a soft spot for them, a lot of that had to do with Michael Laudrup being one of my first football idols when I grew up. They beat AGF 2-1 away yesterday, in a game where they had a man sent off in the first half, conceded 2 PK's and in the end still managed to win to vault them into first place.
So the final matchday (on Monday) will see Brøndby (on 58 pts), Midtjylland (57) and Copenhagen (55) battle for the title, Copenhagen plays away at Randers FC, Midtjylland take on AGF at home while Brøndby can finish the job, also at home, in a tricky game against Nordsjælland.

Other leagues that have yet to be decided:

Albania: likely the most exciting title race, with 2 MD's to go there are 4 teams still in it: Partizani and Teuta (62 pts) followed by Laçi and Vllaznia (60 pts). Defending champions Tirana are 5th and out of the race.
Armenia: standings are a bit incomplete, FC Noah (41 pts - 1 game left) lead Ararat-Armenia (38 pts - 2 left) and both Ararat and Alashkert (37 pts - 3 games left). Interesting note: FC Noah are a only 4 years old and can already win their first championship. They are owned by a former Armenian army general but I don't have the knowledge if anything shady is going on there
Bosnia: with 2 games left it will come down to Borac Banja Luka (63 pts) and defending champions Sarajevo (59 pts), Sarajevo were top of the league for a large part of the season while Borac were in 6th place just 10 games ago and now they look like winning the league
Israel: with 3 games to go Maccabi Haifa (72) and Maccabi Tel Aviv (68) are battling for the title however they don't play eachother anymore
Luxembourg: 2 games left and it's VERY close, Dudelange and Hesperange are tied in points (62) and GD (+40), Fola Esch are in third place (59 pts, +41 GD) with a game in hand so really a three horse race here.
N. Ireland: with 2 games to go, Linfield (74 pts, +43 GD) realistically only needs one point to edge out Coleraine (69 pts, +21 GD). Next matchday will see Coleraine host Linfield in a potential clincher.
Slovenia: Maribor (63 pts) host Mura (60 pts) on the final matchday, the visitors will be champions if they win. Defending champions Cejle meanwhile are in a relegation playoff spot, but host the team in front of them so a win will see them stay up.

St Johnstone beat Hibs to do what might just be the most stunning cup double in any league ever. Hurts but fair play to them, they are a damned good and fully deserving winners. And of course UEFA a month ago screwed Scotland out of the Europa spot being automatic group stage entry.

Mura won 3:1 in Maribor and won the league on head to head. It’s the second season in a row that Slovenia has a first time champion. However this is like the third rendition of a club from Murska Sobota, the previous two went bankrupt and had moderate success with cup wins and top three finishes

Belgian season concluded today with Club Brugge receiving the Championship trophy, and Antwerp defeating Anderlecht to grab the Europa ticket. Deserved for them as they had a good season, finished 2nd in the regular season before Genk raced past them in the playoffs, changes will be coming for them though as their manager is likely to leave, their sporting director is gone too and they have a pretty old squad so there will be some turnover there, too.
To summarize, Club Brugge are champions and go to the CL group stage. Genk finished runners-up and will play in the CL 3rd QR, Antwerp finish 3rd and go to the playoff round of the Europa, Anderlecht finished 4th and will play in the Conference League 3rd QR. Gent beat KV Mechelen 2-1 yesterday to claim the final Conference League ticket, they will play in the 2nd QR.

Braga defeated Benfica in the cup final 2-0, despite missing some key players for half the season. Looking forward to seeing them at full strength with David Carmo, Medeiros, etc back and some key acquisitions. Al Musrati is a fantastic holding midfielder, he wont stay there for long.

As for Benfica...they spent 100 million in all the wrong places, and for what?

They need a RB, and have since Semedo left. Goncalves is ok as a repatriated winger, but in the CL that wont cut it. Andre Almeida is trash. They need a pure holding midfielder, and it looks like Florentino hasn't evolved the way he should have so they need to find one. Promote Paulo Bernardo to be the box to box desperately needed, and unforunately constant injuries destroyed Gabriel's career...shame since he was so good so early on when he came from Spain.

Taraabt, GTFO, never had a player infuriate me so much since the days Portugal trotted out Meireles/Veloso/Ricardo Costa.

Goncalo Ramos literally scores in every opportunity he's given, yet is still not given more playing time so Seforivic can be a pylon and score from other players setting him up. He needs to play more, as does Waldsmidt.

Big off-season to be at the level Benfica belongs in Europe. RB, DM, CM should be the big targets.

JJ's misuse of Ramos this season was unbelievable. In fact I can't believe JJ was hired back by Benfica in the first place.

Brøndby finally are champions again, they easily beat Nordsjælland at home, 2-0. Midtjylland also won, though in the end that didn't matter anymore.

Brøndby fans did a pitch invasion at the end too :D

22) Eric Larsson, 29, försvarare (Malmö FF)
21) Oscar Jansson, 30, målvakt (IFK Norrköping)
20) Joseph Okumu, 23, försvarare (IF Elfsborg)
19) Yukiya Sugita, 27, anfallare (IK Sirius)
18) Pontus Dahlberg, 22, målvakt (BK Häcken)
17) Simon Olsson, 23, mittfältare (IF Elfsborg)
16) Martin Olsson, 32, försvarare (BK Häcken)
15) Alexander Fransson, 26, mittfältare (IFK Norrköping)
14) Astrit Selmani, 23, anfallare (Hammarby IF)
13) Johan Larsson, 30, försvarare (IF Elfsborg)
12) Alexander Jeremejeff, 27, anfallare (BK Häcken)
11) Antonio Colak, 27, anfallare (Malmö FF)

34-year old Lustig is the 9th best player in the league? Yikes

he is still very good defensivly.

nobody said swedish league is very good or anything...i would say its same level as the leagues in norway, serbia, bulgaria, romania etc. We cant keep good young players, we dont have money.

btw nr 20 on that list is close to sign with gent
