Other Chicago sports recap from the perspective of their fans...

Bears: omg, sky's falling.
Bulls: Rose back in MVP form in the preseason, optimism about the season and a very high chance for being letdown.
Northwestern football: hey, we can still get a dece bowl game.
Illini football: **** it, I need a drink.
Cubs: hey, this team might be good in five years.
Sox: I'll have six of what the Illini fan's having.

Why would the Cubs hire another lame duck manager instead of just keeping Sveum? I don't understand anyone advocating Eric Wedge. Not only is he terrible and a moron, but he'll probably cost a decent amount of money.

The team is as close to competing as Baez and Bryant are to the majors, which is no more than 1 season, so it's time to get someone who can lead a winning team.

Bold statement should be: "hey, maybe we could get to a lower tier bowl game...if we're lucky"

Starting to get to the point where I'll actually be surprised if they bring back Samardzija next season. Really hope they can land Tanaka.

I love the Japanese players in a way because so much of the money is tied to the transfer fee whereas the actual contract itself is typically a bargain for what you are getting. The only X-factor is the mileage on the arms.

They're like runningbacks.

I like them because you can get players when they are still in their prime and not 29-30 years old.

An early draft of the BP 101 has three #Cubs prospects in the mix for top ten consideration.

For all the crap Theo got on the way out of Boston, is nobody going to mention how much of this Boston team that is a game away from the World Series is from the Theo regime?
