Don’t forget Thomas and Necas!

Lots of guys looking better than Nico, they just need more time to actually technically overtake him.

Yeah, let's put those guys on NJ from 2018 with Hynes and the Hall drama and the Hynes coaching and see how well they do. I'm sure they'll knock it out of the park with the weight of the franchise on their shoulders at that age.

Isnt that the guy a lot of posters here said we should have taken over Nico?
well he does have more points than Nico this year, and two legs at least !
No, a lot of Vancupless Cannots fans want to try to rewrite history to make it seem we should of picked differently. I will take Nico in the long run.

Watching the Bruins penalty kill just now - and noticing how no one on the opposing power play is ever allowed to possess the puck in the offensive end without being immediately challenged by a penalty killer. Wherever the puck goes, a Bruin penalty killer closes aggressively on that player. The puck is ALWAYS pressured.
Shocker: The team with best special teams continues to have excellent PK.*

*Actually the Bruins PK is 4th (4.43) in the xGA/60 5-on-4 PK overall in the NHL and the Pens is 3rd (4.15).

However Boston is 2nd (3.99) in GA/60 5-on-4 PK and the Pens are 24th (8.32). Because the Pens goaltending is dumpster fire. Actually two dumpster fires plus the trash fire they traded to Ottawa.

First game for Vegas in a week and a half and they are destroying LA
Another team that doesn’t wanna give up on a legacy player.

They still trot Quick’s cremains out there every other game (and he struggles to reach .900% anymore) while they have a younger goalie that’s been pretty good both this year and in his call ups the past two years.

if the Rangers can demote Lundqvist to third string goalie, then proceed to buy him out, teams like LA can move on from Quick, who spends most of the game slipping and sliding on his ass, or at least make him backup.

The Kings are paying for past mistakes right now, between Kovi, Mike Richards, Dion Phaneuf, and the corpse of Quick, they're dishing out over 16 million dollars this season...ouch. Quick is making 5.8 mil till 2023, ugly remnants of past success

The Richards buyout going until 26/27 I think, that's wild.

I just double checked on a Capfriendly... they're paying a minimum of 400k until 2031-32. Holy crap.

Because the Flyers are only pretending to be a good team.

I disagree, Flyers have silently built a very good team, that has legit 1D (Provorov), at least 3 very solid offensive lines and an above average goalteding duo (Hart/Elliott). I think they may even win this division.

Funny how their bad contract decisions (JVR/Hayes) are working so well so far.

Only 8 of the 31 teams get there. They were 6th in the NHL in point percentage, when league stopped last March. They also got eliminated in 7 games in this second round.

Flyers are a good team, not sure why anyone thinks otherwise. And yeah losing in 7 in the 2nd round isn’t really anything to be ashamed over. They have a deep team and if Hart gets right they’ll be a very tough out in the playoffs.

Did you watch that series? Islanders kept them in that series, should have been over in 5. Ask Flyers fans.

Yeah they're good, as are the Islanders, Carolina, Toronto... but neither will win the Cup.
