Maybe even Friday.

And will they drag it out like they do most years? Where they go 3 days between games 2 and 3 and 4 through 7 and it takes 15 days to play 7 (if necessary) games?

I’d say just get it over with, because it’s gonna be a short offseason for these two teams.

If Isles/Lightning finish before 7 games the Final will start Saturday night. If it goes 7 games it will start Tuesday night.

My guide already has Game 1 and 2 on NBCSN for Tuesday and Thursday next week. However, the league has a coveted post US Open Golf timeslot Saturday on NBC proper. So if there is no Game 7 (currently scheduled for that slot).

So if Lightning win tomorrow or Thursday it will go Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday for the first two game. If that series goes 7, then it is a Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday rotation.

I imagine the league is going to try and avoid Sunday and Mondays due to the NFL (obviously the Sunday slot is taken up by Sunday Night Football). Although if Isles/Tampa goes the distance that means Game 7 will be Monday Oct 5, a day before the draft.

The Finals are shaping up to be a very good one (at least provided that Tampa takes care of business).

Tampa / Dallas I believe will not end until AT LEAST Game 6 (most likely Game 7).

I'm really looking forward to it (against Tampa that is). I'll admit I had no interest in the series against Calgary but the way they've defeated Colorado and now Vegas has me kind of pulling for them. Pavelski with his first Cup? :)

It's going to either be Pavelski (feel good story) with his first cup OR Pickles (Ex-Devil and Beloved one) with HIS First. :thumbu:

If Dallas somehow wins the Cup, not sure how you let Khudobin go but man I really want to sign him...
Yeah, that ship likely sailed with his playoff success because every would be contender will be throwing money at him. He would have been a more low key signing if Colorado found a way to win.

I still go back and forth if I would pay what the Lightning did for him.

I think I would when its cup or bust time.

Signed for this playoff and next year as well. In that regard it is more like the old school deal Lou would use to make during our Cup heyday. Now obviously Coleman isn’t the type of player we used to bring in, but in the cap world is very low salary adds value.

I think it's his extra year before the Free-Agency-Year that made him attractive.

His salary was a big part, I love Coleman but Tampa trading their 1st for Barclay freaking Goodrow really made the importance of his 1.8m salary clear. Granted, their 1st was always going to be late and San Jose gave them Philly’s 3rd in return making it a little less crazy but his biggest selling point was his 925k salary.

I'm glad Dallas won but I've been saying for years that throwing out the puck in the defensive end shouldn't be a penalty. It should be treated like an icing in that you simply just can't change lines. What a shitty way to lose a game and series.

Hope Pavelski finally gets his Stanley Cup.

100% rooting for Stars. Couple Finns plus vets like Pavelski that I'd love to see win the Cup.

Khudobin has kind of a weird style. I dont know who to compare him to but more I watch him his style doesnt seem traditional 2010s~ NHL goalie. But I like watching him.

Hoping Isles can get a game or two from Tampa.

I also hate the don't touch the conference trophy nonsense. You don't have to drag it around the ice like the Stanley Cup but touch the damn thing and pick it up and take it to the locker room. Literally the dumbest superstition in sports.

Didn't Stevens touch it after beating the Sens on the way to our 3rd cup? i remember the announcers saying "watch this, he's not going to touch the trophy" at which point he basically picks the thing up.

Yup he's picked it up a few times and we still won. Parise didn't in 2012 and we lost. Literally makes no difference. I wish the league would just mandate you gotta pick it up and take the damn thing into the locker room. I'm not saying they have to skate around the rink kissing it like the Stanley Cup but these teams battle so hard to get this far that there's no reason you can't pick it up and take it into the locker room.

Whether it's Pavelski on one side and Pickles on the other, it's a win-win in my opinion.

Goals against review for Monday’s game

Stars vs Golden Knights: 2 goals against Khudobin, 1 stoppable. 3 goals against Lehner, no chance on any.

So that’s 5 goals scored on goalies, 1 is stoppable. That’s 20% of the goals scored were stoppable. Combined save percentages were .919%.

Softy of the night is this Reilly Smith goal on Khudobin. Nice shot, but thanks to Eddie Olczyk for pointing out that Khudobin was off his angle. a clear shot from the top of the circle with no deflection or screen that isn’t one timed is usually a goal I’m counting stoppable. And Khudobin was off his angle.

Didn't in recent years all East champions touch it?

Good thing Dallas picked him up or that would be one goal he'd regret giving up for many a day going forward.

The GWG, while a rocket of a shot, should've been stopped IMO. Lehner was there, just whiffed on it. Props to Gurianov though, he got as much on that shot as he could.
