Russell will be moved out if Klefbom can come back. The low actual salary he has will probably make it easier to move him.

Leaf fan coming in peace. Please don't shoot! An Oiler's fan/friend of mine just wrote me asking for my opinion so figured I'd copy/paste my response here.

The Leaf's goalies save percentages were about 1 to 2% lower with Barrie on the ice then without him. (#'s similar to Martin Marincin if Oiler fans remember him) He was given the highest amount of offensive zone starts of any Leaf defenseman. His points/60 were pretty much the same as Muzzin, Rielly, Sandin, however... the top lines on the Leafs are so inadequate on defense, the Leafs couldn't afford another two-edge sword, so he was often running with the more defensively-orientated bottom six to cover his backside. If you have the right players to wrap around him, Barrie is an absolute steal. If you don't, you'll be wondering why you just lost 4-5.

This is the worst dcore in the league. Or top 3. And I'm saying really liking the Barrie signing. With Klefa out for a year (presumably), we're screwed without filling that hole (Jones isn't ready for that #1 LD spot).

Bouch needs to come up and we need to somehow ship russell and get a bonafide #1B LD

Sure but I don't want Jones to be saddled by Barrie's poor defensive game. I think Jones would be more comfortable with Bear.
