I remember when he used to cut inside with the puck to the slor to get off shots in better positions. That 76 point season had some luck, but he fully deserved it.And Isles fans are turning on Ebs fast. I have no idea what it is with that guy, but, man. It was nice when he was good for a couple of seasons.
Essentially the same thing that was in Edmonton. Doesn't put the effort in all the time and now it's catching up to him.And Isles fans are turning on Ebs fast. I have no idea what it is with that guy, but, man. It was nice when he was good for a couple of seasons.

Then he got clocked in the head (by Torres, I think), started to play on the perimeter, and... well, he just became more and more of a coward, really.
Eberle threw loads of hits by his standards during the playoffs (look it up if you don't believe me) but by then his bravery to score was all but gone.
I'm not surprised at all.

Eberle went to the tough areas early in his career. He got rocked by some pretty big hits and I believe he has played cautious and scared ever since. I really thought he was going to be great but playing this game scared won't get you very far. I'm curious where he will sign as a UFA in the summer.
He kind of strikes me as a guy who may retire early.
I see him as the next Sam Gagner. A guy that will drift around in his later years as a PP specialist and sometime bottom sixer on a crap team.
Chiasson: $43,333/G (lowest among non-elc players)Wow.
Now calculate the cost per goal.

Eberle: $1,000,000 (431st)
Eberle is payed 27 times more for every goal he scores than Alex Chiasson is.
Chiasson seemed to get a little lucky this year. TM made it very clear that people needed to step it up going back to pre-season, that we had a lot of guys knocking on the door trying to get in. Chiasson made the most when he was given a shot. Some players come into the league and just drift aimlessly around, never seeming to find a fit, until one day, it happens and they carve out a pretty nice portion of their career. I can see Chiasson being a player like that. Being drafted as high as he was obviously speaks to having some talent, but maybe he just never got a chance to be put in a position to shine, or took things for granted until later in the career. At any rate, no matter what happens to him after this year, this is the time of his life, and we are lucky to be getting that part of it.

On the topic of Ebs, anyone remember this?
Whats interesting about these type of situations is that people cant just enjoy the hot streak as being a hot streak.
