that is a 21 man roster--usually you run with a 22 man roster--my 21 man roster leaves about 3.0 to 4.0
(depending on Montayo's burried rate is)

that is not a lot of wiggle room

say if we sign Strome to 3.5-that will leave us about .5 in cap

Nurse and 4 and Strome at 3.5? That is not good when you look at the cap

I don't have a problem with the Oilers not qualifying Strome. It could be a good move as long as Chia is willing to take the associated heat for the Eberle trade. The Nurse salary seems reasonable.

OP needs to add a 13th/14th forward. Plus update the cap for Montoya's actual cap hit when buried. I believe that means the Oilers have $3.645M in cap room before 13th/14th forwards are signed.

The Oilers have already offered a qualifying offer to Strome. We've retained his rights at this point. I believe that he has up until July 15th to accept that qualifying offer. So for the next two weeks he can get at worst a 1 year 3M deal if he wants it.

I really hope that’s not the case. Let Klefbom run point on the PP when he’s healthy, our PP was top 5 in 16-17 with him on the point. Let Bouchard overcook. I don’t want to see him on this team until he’s 21.

I don't know what else he can accomplish at the junior level. His skating needs work, and he definitely needs to pick up his intensity at times. He can do both of those at the NHL level.

I'm not saying I absolutely want him on the Oilers this year, but I wouldn't be upset if he did make it. This is assuming he has a phenomenal pre-season. Give him 9 games, go from there
