And McDavid and Draisaitl still have another gear. They been meh for stretches (McDavid was horrible against the Nucks). It’s our defensive breakouts that have improved. Forechecking is back again also.

some here are digging waaaay to hard to say WHY the oilers are heading for a crash--which is coming

they have scored 17 goals this season--15 coming from just 4 players--

you guys do not need to go to fancy stats to try and sell the point--Oilers still do not have secondary scoring and once teams D tighten up and they toss their best against McDavid/Leon/Kass/Neal the crash will happen

why you guys went down the advance stat route to make a point is a bit of overkill

here are some simple--old school stats

Smith 2 games 2 wins 3.5 GAA .892 save %
Kosk 2 games 2 wins 2.42 GA .914 save %

17 goals scored 15 by 4 players

no need to "claim" to understand advance stats in this case--old school stats tell us that the fall is coming

Wait 20 games or so before putting substantial weight on analytics. You need large sample sizes.

In any event, obviously they aren’t going 82-0. Not shocking.

Some stats we don’t need to wait on more games for because previous seasons provide plenty of sample size. Also, just basic logic. Like Neal shooting at eight billion percent of whatever he’s at now or McDavid putting up a 200+ point pace.

Nah. Neal will maintain his 46% shooting percentage through the full season and they’ll make the playoffs.

You conveniently forgot to mention RNH,

That makes 5 solid top 6 players . Depth has improved
