They'll go hard at T-Rex if he becomes a FA, O'Reilly as their #2 option.

No idea whatsoever. And, frankly, the most likely predictions will just make me frustrated and grouchy.

Interesting to note upcoming UFA and RFA's on our roster (Players worth talking about). This gives you a look into the future of projected cap space required and impacts of spending all of our cap space this off season.

2018:
UFA: Danault
RFA: DLR, Carr

2019:
UFA: Patch and Byron
RFA: Scherbak, Lehkonen, Hudon, Reilly

2020:
UFA: ?
RFA: Domi, Juulsen, Mete

2021:
UFA: Gallagher, Petry
RFA: Too far down the road to predict

Safe to say we have tons of cap space and we should not have any problems moving forward

Danault thread is closed so thought I'd post it here...

The more I think about it, I would play hardball on his next deal. He could be replaced by DLR, Vejdemo, Evans and eventually Poehling. He has 2 more years of RFA and I might sign him to a one year deal if he wants north of $3M. I was previously OK with $3.5M on a long term deal but not sure I make this deal anymore. He has played 187 NHL games and only one full season. Last season he played 52 games. Were talking about one decent season so far at 40 pts and 13 goals. If Domi got just over $3M, Danault should get just under $3M. He is age 25/26 next year so the perfect deal would be 5 years at $3M max (buying 3 years of UFA taking him to age 29/30). If he get greedy, sign him to a one year deal and make him prove himself.
