From my colleague Lafortune at TheScout.ca, take a look at his Prospect Watch rankings for the Sting
who is getting the O/A spots on the Sting this year ?
who is getting the O/A spots on the Sting this year ?
Agreed with Dupuis,Cant believe with Chapman,s work ethic and his past performance he isnt a lock in for sure.Shame on the Sting if he is let go.
Went to part of this mornings scrimmage. Some of the veterans better be worried that there may not be a place for them on this years team. Very impressed with many of the newcomers in attendance at camp. The future looks bright. Even the RBC Centre looked cleaner.
I was also there. Chychrun and Zacha look like they will be impact players right off the hop. Zacha looks a lot older than 17 and a has high level skill. The 98's that stood out for me at the first scrimmage were Belisle, Kyrou , Campbell (who hit everything that moved even though he's a small player) and O' Donnell. Going to be tough for the management to cut some of these guys.
From last years team some of the standouts were Hodgson, White and Nikandrov.
The scrimmage was fairly tame in terms of roughness. I expect things will get a lot chippier this afternoon and expect a few scraps.
Very interested in how the Ottawa guys Renaud and White are doing during camp. Any updates would be appreciated and you could also private message me if you don't want thoughts posted. Thanks in advance.
White looked very good in the morning session.Quick with nice moves and not afraid to go to the front of the net.He seems to have picked up his tempo from the end of last year. Lots of energy and fun to watch. Renaud however still likes to float around. He is a big player but rarely uses his size to his advantage in the checking department. Somewhat disappointing as a 2nd round pick entering his 3rd year in the league. Would have hoped to see more by now. He is going to have to raise his compete level as this is a very competitive Sting Camp for a change.
Wouldn't surprise me to see Brad Belisle make this team, big day for him. Kodola has come in MUCH BIGGER, based on the premise that he'll be here for 2 more years as opposed to Goldy's 1 more year, I'm guessing Goldy is traded.
Zacha - Kodola - Hodgson
Brown - Nikandrov - Korostelev
Lindberg - Kyrou - Bushnell
Belisle - White - Ciccarelli
Spinozzi - DeAngelo
Chychrun - Chapman
Schlichting - Black
ex: King , Core, Renaud

How did Stos look? Thought his compete level might keep him there for a little longer.
So the Otters have cut CHL 2nd round pick LW Igor Vladykovsky, and it's not looking good for getting first round LW Anton Karlsson to sign. It's also pretty certain Andre Burakovsky will graduate to the AHL this season. So my question for Sting fans is, if Goldobin is sent back, would the Sting consider moving him? What would the price be? The Otters are likely to have two import spots open, and they need a top six wing that can finish.
