I was surprised to see them favored as much as they were before the game. Germany has a decent squad, especially for the quality of this year's tournament.

Aw, man. Kazakhstan choked against Norway, so a Canada win over Finland (as unlikely as that is) will knock them out, as Germany plays Latvia, so one of those teams is guaranteed at least two points and will also jump the Kazakhs.

Lose to Russia, Switzerland, beat Sweden, Slovakia and even score 7 on them. Need to go to shootout with Denmark. Great tournament, lol

Kazakhstan spectacularly blowing their chance to go to a historic QF - will end up behind USA, Finland, Canada and: Latvia, Germany, or both. Bettman loser point is blushing here

Even coming into this their goaltending was pretty strong on paper regardless of circumstances. Pettersen, Oettinger, & Stolarz was pretty good & that’s turned out that way even with Stolarz getting hurt.

They probably have/had enough higher end talent upfront for this tournament with Robertson, Garland, & Lebanc.

Dont know why though. He had some creative moments in the 3rd and even assisted on the biggest OT opportunity. Was handed the "SUI player of the game" award afterwards.
But in the SO, Meier, Andrighetto, Ambühl, Corvi and Hofmann were picked over him. Ok, you like your NLA rink performers... but even then, at least one of them could have been substituted with Hischier. Not complaining though

Didn't realize how good of a year Noebels had. He was always a pretty good offensive player, but wasn't a great skater or good defensively and got in Terry Murray's doghouse.

Good thing the Terry Murray days are in the past.
