I found old Youngblood DVD in a thrift store in some remote little town near Joshua Tree park in CA.

No, It was Apple Valley, CA. we would sometimes take the "back way" down 247 through 29 Palms on our way to AZ. Were you there at the USMC training center.

No, It was Apple Valley, CA. we would sometimes take the "back way" down 247 through 29 Palms on our way to AZ. Were you there at the USMC training center.

247 there is beautiful. I drove only part of it though, from Lucerne Valley to Barstow and back but didn't turn left in Lucerne (direction to Yucca Valley), we went straight up to Big Bear, great mountain town, off season there is quiet and pleasant - October.

Those remote highways are the best, big sky, long sunsets, warm evenings...can't beat that.

Not only have I never seen Goonies, I had no idea anyone considered it a big time movie.

Never saw Titanic. Or Blade Runner.

Slapshot, Youngblood, Miracle, and Mystery Alaska are my favorites for hockey movies.

Mystery Alaska is #1 for me. That's such an underrated story and gave the world @Donnie Shulzhoffer

My brother in law was stationed where it was filmed (Astoria OR) during the 30 year anniversary for it and all the stars came back for the festivities. When I told him I'd never seen it, he lost his mind too.

My nieces and nephews have all seen it too and think I'm crazy for not wanting to.
