BLACKSTONE, Mass. —A 17-year-old Blackstone boy who is accused of shooting and killing a cat with an arrow is now facing two felony charges.

Blackstone police said the juvenile, who has not been identified, has been charged with killing an animal and damaging personal property. He also faces two misdemeanor charges: discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and discharging a firearm near a highway.

“I want to commend Blackstone police and the Blackstone Valley Drug and Anti-Crime Task Force for their dedication to this case,” acting Blackstone Police Chief Gregory Gilmore said. “Through the public’s assistance, we were able to identify, locate and bring this individual to justice.”

People need to stop blaming mental health for these mass shootings. It’s a dog whistle for people who refuse to discuss gun control measures just like blaming video games and movies and music.

No one needs to be in possession of high powered weapons like what were used this weekend, in Gilford and in many other shootings.

The whole thing is a mess. This country is going to shit.

I am afraid it will take years (if ever) to right this country. It makes me so sad. If Dad were still alive he would be so angry about the Nazi flags. He fought in WW2.

I dislike guns. I do however respect the right to have one. NO ONE needs the kind of gun that kills so many so fast except law enforcers and military. It is nuts that nothing is being done.

Bump stocks have just been banned. Semi Automatic isnt fast and if you were to acquire an automatic rifle or pistol it takes YEARS and tons of money and you go on a government watch list. Illegal I cant speak on.
