Except most have some sort of connection to somebody and dont come completely out of the blue. Makes me wonder if he's buddies with someone like Vendetta. Seems like a good way to get a career going. #Conspiracy
My point was that every insider was once a guy/girl with no sources or platform. Maybe this guy could start his career off of this.

Good for them. I don’t watch baseball other than the Jays and I’m not sure I’ve seen this guy play, but they sure needed an CF.

Some Jesse Barfield in there.

Springer last 5 years: .273/.363/.500, 138 HR, 27 SB, 132 OPS+
Barfield peak Jays ('83-'87): .276/.347/.509, 136 HR, 43 SB, 126 OPS+

Barfield was a significantly better defender though.

That's a good one, too.

As someone who's been hard on management I gotta give them a pat on the back for this. Great addition and they stepped up their offer to get the player they wanted/needed.

Still work to do but adding Springer really helps all the other pieces fall into place.

Sign Brantley and Realmuto.

Trade Grichuk + Jansen for pitching.

LF Gurriel
CF Springer
RF Teo
C Realmuto
DH Brantley
3B Vlad
2B Biggio
SS Bo
1B Tellez

No offensive holes in that lineup. It's a literal murderer's row from 1-9.

Ryu
Walker
Pitcher from the Grichuk/Jansen trade
Odorizzi
Pearson

The rotation wouldn't be as solid as I'd like it, but you can't fix everything in one offseason.

It's certainly not unrealistic given what management has said. They still have plenty of money to play with.
for sure - and with the majority of our stars right now being on cheap contracts, now is the time to flex the spending. add another big name and some depth

Peak Vernon Wells was a pretty damn good player. A better version of him isnt far off from being an MVP. Or getting MVP votes I should say.
That would be a very good thing. A little steep, but they have no choice if they want to attract FAs.
Hopefully MLB allows fans to ST games and I get to see him play.
