Where did Kavanagh go from BC no longer on the roster

I am not sure. I just noticed he was not on the Barrie Colts roster. He likely was put on waivers. There is not much of market for average overage players. The ridiculous low price that Ottawa, Oshawa and Kingston paid for the overagers they acquired is not the norm but it is all teams can get.

I know Sarnia is our GM said 5 weeks ago he was going to look for one. We could use a forward or a D. Sting had a D get hurt last night it looks like we could be down to 6 D 5 of which are rookies.

Ottawa has a spot open. Centre and #4 RD are probably the two positions they may be looking for BUT I doubt they are looking for anything costing more than a 5th round pick.

With his injury I doubt he gets moved. If he does its a gamble for the receiving team that he would be fully recovered and or effective. Unfortunate timing for Kitchener and Martin. Might go a lot cheaper than before the injury.

Hopefully he rebounds like he did last year (wrist injury). He was a big part in the Windsor upset. But man, what a random injury to have.

Haven’t heard anything definite. Unless I missed it, the last I heard was they were still waiting for a diagnosis.

Wasn't it his pelvis as was heard on a broadcast somewhere don't quote me. But for him I hope the quickest recovery. He was rolling along since last years playoffs. Wish him all the luck especially with him being a Sudbury local.

Starting this thread now as there has been some chatter about potential trades already, and much of that movement is related to the OA situation for each team. I have automatically de-activated any player who is either an IMPORT / or NHL drafted or with an NHL contract as it is most likely that they are not returning. A decent 19 year old D who just needs to play the minutes Hamara was playing. A D who’s a good OA candidate next year, meaning he wouldn’t be as expensive as a higher end drafted D.

If we automatically go with two OA D, and move on from Martin, we’ll have a ton of offence to replace. He was on a 40 goal pace at the time of his injury and if he returns down the stretch, he’d be a valued top sixer.

And we all saw his game in the playoffs last year.

It's worth noting that Kingston has an OA spot available again as Tyler Savard is no longer listed on the roster. There have been rumours for 2 weeks that he left the team - looks to be official.
