Starting this thread now as there has been some chatter about potential trades already, and much of that movement is related to the OA situation for each team. To start with I have included every 2003 born that was on a roster at the trade deadline. I have automatically de-activated any player who is either an IMPORT / or NHL drafted or with an NHL contract as it is most likely that they are not returning. This will be a crowd sourced thread, so please chime in through the comments when you hear FIRM CONFIRMATION that a player is or is not coming back.

Curious the guys listed here. Did they sign or is it just a guess that they will be leaving.

I can only speak about Kaleb Lawrence, but he was drafted last year and LA does not have to sign him for another year, and the message from the team here was that LA wanted to give him the next two years to see what he could do. All the messaging around him is that he's back in the OHL, either Owen Sound or somewhere else.

You are definitely right, but probably 80% of those guys are not back. Which 3 come back is anyone's guess at this point so by default I started them all off as inactive.

Since you have some concrete messaging about Lawrence though, I will re-activate him on the list. It's a living document, so as new information comes in we can update the status of each player.

I have no firm basis for this speculation, but I believe Tucker Robertson will be back for an OA season.
The Kraken probably want to space out the contracts of their drafted players and since they don't have to sign Robertson prior to next season they may feel it's prudent to wait until after next season. This would be a huge "get".......or I guess "keep" for the Petes as they will get a big return in a trade for Robertson, should this come to pass. Tim will tell.

Yes, if redrafted they have until June 1st 2024 to be signed. Typically if a team drafts an Oa it is with the intention of signing them to a minor pro contract.

I don't have to do the work but might as well put them back on the list and take them off as status changes.

In my opinion the Peterborough Petes will likely start the season with Connor Lockhart, Sam Mayer and Cam Gauvreau as their three overages. If Tucker Robertson returns for an overage season they probably keep him to start the season and trade Gauvreau. They will likely trade Robertson at the deadline for a huge return. I expect that they likely will keep Lockhart and Mayer for the season and Gauvreau if he starts the season with the Petes also likely stays. I expect Michael Simpson to be traded early in the season for a player and few draft picks or multiple draft picks if they don’t get a player for him. I do not expect JR Avon or Chase Stillman to return to the OHL and Brennan Othmann with definitely will not return as he will be playing in either the AHL or NHL.

I would be SHOCKED if Robertson isn't signed in the offseason and off to the AHL for 23/24. Also as good as Simpson has been, OA goalies rarely if ever return a player. A 2nd and a 3rd would probably be a realistic return. Honestly kinda want Saginaw to possibly go for him and then flip Oke so it almost a break even.

I would not be surprised if Robertson is back in the OHL. There might be a better chance of Robertson traded than signed by the Kraken this off-season (and) sent to Coachella for the entire season. The Kraken have had a lot of picks and their affiliate is well stocked.

Kraken adding all of Morrison, Winterton and Kyle Jackson to the system next season as it is. All three play C like Robertson and had better offensive seasons.

Although Tucker was the only one to win a championship so he has that going for him….

I think Tucker Robertson is more valuable to them because he is a good two way forwards who plays at both ends of the ice and he also provides offence. He is also the face off player in the OHL this season. He actually had better offensive seasons than both more Kyle Jackson who had 83 points in 67 games and Ryan Winterton who had 36 points in 34 games which would equate to 72 points over 68 games. Tucker had 90 points in 68 games. Logan Morrison while great offensively appears not to do well when he faces a physical team. In the playoffs he disappeared offensively for all but two games against the Petes. When look at Tucker’s time with the Petes he is likely one of the best Petes in the last 20 years because of all that he brings to the table

If I was the Petes I would keep Tucker Robertson if he returns to the OHL until the trade deadline as one of the team’s three overage players and trade him at the deadline for a 17 or 18 year old player and multiple draft picks (a 2nd, 3rd and either a 4th or 5th). They will get more for him at the deadline than would in the off season or at the start of the season.

I disagree. An OA player traded in the off season should bring a better return as teams get them for the full season. It's not as though Tucker has anything to prove in the first half that will up his value.
