Skjei was a gamble. Trouba got market value

That entire offseason the trend was to "overpay" RFA's on longer term deals in the hopes they were locked up before they truly broke out and then you have them on a steal of a contract (Barkov was the first contract of this kind).

Wilson, Dvorak and Severson all got similar contracts. Wilson the only one who not only lived up to it but actually exceeded it.

Said it many times. Rangers fans are the worst picking on their defenseman. They have done it for over 10 years while continually giving the forwards pass after pass when they never scored, especially on the PP. This team is the first consistent offensive team we have had in a long time. The kind Hank never had in the playoffs.

For over 10 years? It's been a lot longer than that ;)

If only these boards existed in '95 when Sergei Zubov got ran out of town after his performance in the playoffs vs Philadelphia...

Every year a defenseman is chosen to be the fan base's whipping boy.

If my father in law was still alive, he’d give you 10 straight minutes about what a bum Allan Stanley was.

It seems like he kinda did. Reports that he might have had one or two teams he was willing to sign with, which would have quite an impact on what teams would be willing to trade for him.
Serious question.....Is it illegal in any way that "upon signing a new contract with a team.......that it states in their contract that they are "Not allowed" to in any way make it public that they "wouldn't mind" going to this team or that team? Because it DOES seriously diminish any return. Interested teams will "under offer" wouldn't you think?

Is the Carolina pick lottery protected? I.e. do we get a shot at the 1 OA pick if we beat Carolina in the preliminary round of play off?

We get the lower of the 2 picks Carolina owns. Theirs or Toronto's. The only way we can get the 1st overall pick is if we lose to Carolina

question is what happens if we beat Carolina, Toronto wins the 1st overall and keeps their pick, will Carolina give up their 1st without any issues?

The Rangers are guaranteed to get a first round pick from Carolina. They are getting the lower of the first rounders that Carolina has, between their own or Toronto's. Even if it's the only first rounder due to Toronto getting their first back if it becomes 1OA.

If Toronto loses in the qualifying round and gets 1OA, and Carolina wins the Cup, we're getting the Carolina pick at 31OA. If Carolina wins the Cup after beating Toronto in the ECF, we're getting 31OA. Etcetera etcetera...

Are you asking if they would run up to the mic and defiantly announce the pick before we can?

LOL, no the legal battle could be between the lottery and the draft due to the way the conditions were worded. In any case it is a moot point, I don't think Toronto is winning the lottery.

the only one having any issues with the wording of the condition is you apparently.
