Would be entertaining if he sits but I think they get it done at 7*6. Very reasonable and fair deal for both sides all things considered.

Anything below 7.5mill is fair for both parties. Anything below 7mill is terrific for the Toronto camp.

A few Leafs Reddit posters have hinted that there is a verbal agreement in place already.

250K more than i like...but better that than losing a trade.

Dubas capitulated if he agrees to a $7M year deal for 6 years. For that kind of cap hit I would have expected more term.

Not particularly happy with that if true.

If Nylander can bait the Leafs into signing him long-term at close to $7.5 mil per season, then IMO that's a clear loss for the Leafs. I don't think they should go over $7 mil, which is probably why this has dragged on for so long. Good on Dubas for digging in his heels and not caving to such laughable demands from the weakest of Toronto's core pieces.
