You might want to check your math.

31 goals in 70 games = .44 goals per game

Then obviously it's a 91 game season which means he's on pace for just over 40 goals. Sure it's 9 games over a typical regular season, but it's still on pace for 40 goals. :sarcasm:

The only team that I think considers one of the offers is Minnesota.

I believe he meant on pace for over 40 Canadian goals.

Minnesota would say no simply for the fact Minnesota needs a c & nylander isn't a c. Joel Eriksson ek is already a beast defensively, & could improve this upcoming season.

I would do Greenway + for nylander but unfortunately unless Minnesota moves Parise or Zuccarello, Minnesota doesn't have room for Another winger, much less fact if minnesota trades for Nylander, Zuccarello or Parise who are earning 6mil or more would be playing playing on 3rd line. That wouldn't be good for wild cap wise going forward .
This would put Minnesota in a situation where forwards & dman, but specifically forwards earning too much money leaving not much room to improve in other areas such as extends Fiala, & Kaprizov who will see easily in 5.5_8mil range

plus the expansion draft would hurt since you'll have to lose a good player or make a deal with Seattle. At this point you'd have to do something like Dumba for Nylander.

I am not super caught up in the on pace for goals but since we are splitting hairs he had 31 in 68 games.. which is on pace for 37.4 in an 82 game season. pretty damn near a 40 goal pace.

no one should be surprised when he does hit 40 at some point in the next few saesons

If the idiots running the Leafs would draft a player like Schneider instead of another one dimensional offensive player there wouldn't be talk about trading players like Nylander.

I know this is for the "wrong" Nylander but...Dermott (RFA) for A. Nylander?

Feel like A.Nylander with Tavares and his bro W.Nylander could be great.

would help with Leafs depth on LW.

LD depth is fine and Leafs could move Dermott

Lehtonen (can also play RD)

I think 40 goals for Nylander is possible under a full season. With Keefe as coach, his game was much improved and his TOI also increased. I do however think it is more reasonable to expect him to ~35 goal score moving forward.

With that said, I think the Leafs will look at 1 more season with this core before they trade 1 of their top forwards.
