Oil Country
Come one, come all to the Northern battle of the West
Between the Edmonton Oilers and the Winnipeg Jets
A duel like no other, a war for the times
Lord Stanley's preview conveyed by these rhymes

The trials will surely leave them out of breath
From the relentless hits to the endless sudden death
Two rivals whose clash will have them loathe one another
But the fires will be stoked now as I make fun of Jet mothers

Nikolaj protests there is no better than Mother Ehlers
But he failed to reveal she was full time at the peelers
What is there to say about the mother of Captain Blake
Except she is so large that her baptism was in a lake

Mother Scheifele, so proud to cheer on her her son Mark
So unsightly the blind beg their other senses go dark
Pierre-Luc tells tales of Mother Dubois' fair bio
But tells naught of her fame as the whore of Ohio

Mother Stastny brought into this world feisty Sir Paul
But surely birthed more as the village bicycle for all
As well there is Mother Pionk who rivals the most dense
Who thought climbing Mountain Dew was a trek that made sense

In all the land is there a more kingly title than Connor
Mother Hellebyuck named her son after McDavid had the honour
And the soulless red beard by the name of Connor, Kyle
Whose mother Sir Leon has certainly made smile

Sir Andrew sings nothing but praise for Mother Copp
Whose build was so large that each step was a plop
At last there is Sir Appleton whose mother was feared
All eyes who looked upon her felt brutally seared

It goes without saying the above is in jest
Our rival's mothers are gems though they wear the wrong crest
Insulting Jet mothers I shall do so no more
But expect no further mercy, Oilers in four

Looks like its going to be: 4K - Bear as the pairing.

Jones out.

According to Rishaug.

4K was good last game, and while Jones has mostly played well he has a penchant for making bad mistakes, and those can be momentum changing killers in the playoffs. I don't mid Tippett playing it safe in this instance. I'm sure we'll see Jones back in at some point, but it's important to get out of the gates on the right foot. Also Koekkoek was great in the play-ins last year for Chicago so maybe he can rekindle that level of play in this year's playoffs.

I agree. Its a pretty safe bet from Tipp. But is it little bit of rush job inserting 4K into playoffs after 1 game back?

One thing that hasn’t been talked about much is that a lot of our players don’t have much playoff experience.

Pulju’s first playoffs, Yamo’s second, Kahun’s first, Jones’ first, Bear’s second, McLeod’s first, Khaira’s second, Shore’s second, Koskinen’s second

Not to mention Haas, Nygard, P Russell, Bouchard, Broberg...

It’s a bit concerning. Hopefully the boys come out fired up.

Tippett: "Look Connor, you need to be the one to set an example out there."

McDavid: "I've been trying to set the tone this year coach, I know I can be better though."

Tippett: "I know you can be better and more consistent in that regard too, it's just got to be a mentality all the time."

McDavid: "You're right, I've just got to flip the switch and leave it flipped."

Tippett: "So what are you going to do next game?"

McDavid: "Next game in the post-game media availability when Matty, Terry Jones or Spector ask one of their stupid questions I'll blow them off with a one word answer and then say "next question." "

Tippett: "That's right, every time you hear me?"

McDavid: "Got it coach."

Khaira does 1/3 of all their PK, he's not coming out of the line up.
Kassian or Ennis might not slot in at all this playoffs because they don't kill penalties.

Contrary to popular belief the average minor penalties in the playoffs are more than in the regular season.
Yet he hasn’t done jack since his return. A line of Archie/Shore/Kass screams rambunctious
