The big question becomes - when does the team seriously think about making changes...and where do they start? Part of a coach's job is having command of the locker room (and the respect of the players inside of it), and the ability to motivate. An IDGAF attitude in a few players is poison to the rest of the locker room - sooner or later, other players will be infected. Change has to come from the top; I hope Stan as a person is well (and if he isn't, that his health improves), but I'm really beginning to think that this is his time to go. Take one role or the other - he clearly can't do "both". As for curing IDGAF-itis: let the players go who are primarily infecting the locker room with it. Sure, a young team is going to mean pain right now....but with the Twins, Vrbetic and the likes of Arnsby (and a potential top 3 pick in 2020), the future could look bright if these kids are brought up and allowed to play in a system that best suits their talents.[/QUOTE]
Very well worded. Abbott just doesn't realize how Butler is not only affecting team development, but the attendance as well. But as he stated in his one & only article (6 years ago), "this is a hobby for me, i'm not out looking to make money." So what does he care what the attendance is. Why should we ?
