I sure hope they surprise the shit out of everyone today and bring that much-needed intensity. I have a feeling that the exhibition loss will kick them in the ass.

I feel like Boyle is going to be a big-time leader this series and might have a good game today.

Carolina dominated that period and had at least two posts on top of the 12 shots. It was more about Rangers not being very good.

Surprisingly looks like a playoff game. I thought it would be watered down.

Unfortunately? Why does it matter how well or poorly he does? Unless it's against the Panthers

His positioning is slightly better, but he still makes dumb decisions with the puck and the burst of speed is MIA. His legs will probably never be the same, he had 5 months to recover and looks the same.

Rangers have disappointed me so far, they're more interested in throwing hits than actually playing. Canes have kept Panarin and Zibanejad in the dark most of the game.

Trocheck did a good job on that final face off. He looked decent today.

Canes defense is such a joy to watch. IQ, speed, just the right amount of physicality. Literally everything we don't have.

Canes controlled the game and still only won by one goal, I'd be worried if the Rangers actually decide to show up for game 2.

Lundqvist played really well, a couple breakaways and point blank saves.
