Honestly, if we draft a top 4 Dman this year the blueline is becoming much better with a healthy Weber, Petry, Juulsen and Mete next year.
Honestly there are still lots of ifs. It hinges on Petry having another great season, Weber staying healthy and still playing great hockey, Mete and Juulsen taking a step forward and whoever we draft panning out and quick.

Watching him play his first game live against NY, the first thing that popped out to me was how SOLID and POISED he looked in the defensive zone. There was a point when he was in his end with 2 fore checkers applying pressure on him. He was able to deftly avoid both of them while keeping control of the puck and then made a great outlet pass to the forward exiting the zone. It's rare to see a guy so poised and confident in the defensive zone like that, especially in his first ever NHL game. He's going to be an important part of our blue line moving forward. He's in the mold of a modern shut down d-man -- agility, mobility, passing and IQ are his staples.

It was just one game but he definitely looked more poised and intelligent than Beaulieu was. Beaulieu was a better skater though.

He was awful yesterday. Had numerous mistakes, lost a lot of 1 vs 1 battle. Some bad turnovers At least he can skate well.

When Alzner was not with him he ahd trouble...oh well he's young so no worry

Coach didn't see the same game: 2nd most used defenceman, played on the PK and during the last minute of regulation time.

Live @ the game he had a tough time...

good for Claude giving him minutes..he'll need them.
I don'T see any offensive upside in him...remind me of Kulikov...decent player, not physical, decent 1st pass.... good 4-5th D..nothing more.

How was he yesterday (from someone not named Adonis Creed)? Didn’t watch the game.

He got exposed a few times, especially against Kucherov. You could tell he wasn't ready for the speed at some points, which is natural when you go from the AHL to playing against the best offensive team in the NHL. So he made some mistakes, but he was able to recover well. Julien kept his confidence high by playing him in important moments of the game (final minutes and top PK against Kuch and Stamkos), which was very nice to see.

Wut??!?!? I thought he was excellent. He played real good despite some rookie mistakes here and there, which is to be expected.

No disrespect but this post is total BS. You are either trying to stir the pot or you did not watch the game. The kid was solid.

Was good today...had some rookie mistakes vs Flyers top line but learning in NHL with 20min of ice-time is good for him. he'll develop into a good 2nd or 3rd pairing D
