Conroy has to trade him

Someone is going to get a good deal

I think he is going for picks and middling prospects.
There's more than one bidder. Whoever offers the best deal gets him. Just about every tdl move involves and expiring contract that the team doesn't intend to resign, hence why they are trading the player in the first place.

Who cares, it's 100% in his right. Why should he have to sign with whoever trades for him?
This. It's on GMs to start paying attention a little earlier to whether or not a player is likely to resign. Then it's on the fans to understand why a GM might trade a crowd favorite out of the blue if he gets an inkling the player won't resign.

Doesn't seem like Hanifin is holding the Flames hostage. It seems like the Flames have been holding some of their players hostage.

Poor guy is joining the team at the wrong time lol

At least the city is awesome
lol also who knows what the real story is. Agents and GMs using multiple media members to try and influence.
The preferred Tampa story could be the agent pressuring Florida to pay up on a contract
