In that case, Habs will just have to wait a year or two for Romanov to get here.
Habs aren't in a posiiton to trade away 2-3 young cost controlled assets for any player in the league. We aren't contenders for another 2-3years at minimum and we should keep our assets.
Hanifin is a young cost-controlled asset that is locked in for 5 more years, and fits the Habs biggest need like a glove. The mid-late 1st round pick is a shot in the dark. Even Suzuki, who looks like a really good prospect hasn't played an NHL game and plays a position we're deep at.
This would be a no-brainer for the Habs in my opinion.
