‘A very sad day for the Burke family’ after OHL suspends Niagara IceDogs GM, head coach for at least two years

“Bill Burke, the team’s co-owner, responded to an email request for comment by calling ‘today a very said day for the Burke family.’ “We will have more to say in the coming days,” he said. “We would, however, like to thank everyone that has reached out today with their overwhelming love and support. It means more to us then you could possibly know.”

Billy Burke declined comment for the time being. “Not right now. We will give you the whole story soon enough,” he wrote in a text.

What’s missing? An apology to the female colleague the brothers degraded in language so vile that no media outlet will print it. Unbelievable.

Whatsapp is user to user encrypted but they do ask for contacts. That alone would allow the ability to connect the dots. That's not accounting for allowing the wrong individuals in the conversation.

I'm hearing that the IceDogs have been sold......hope they can get things back on track heading into next season.
They have quite a talented group of young players.

Not going to be surprised if you don't see more of these type of things surface throughout the league. The old boys club is going to take some time to move into the present. I'm sure others are taking notice and lessons are being learned. It's about time.

With the fan support that this team receives they should be able to build a top notch year after year competitive program. A program players, agents and parents will give anything to be a part of. Even might I add "within" the rules that they were found guilty of breaking. They could perhaps aspire to be the Eastern Conference version of a certain team they so hate so badly in the Western Conference? LOL.

Heard from a friend that Rob Kitamura was scouting at the OHL Cup. He is a scout for the Tampa Bay lightning who at one point in time was a scout for the Barrie Colts. The boys at the OHL Cup are a little young for someone concerned about the NHL draft. A Lightning scout at the OHL Cup may lead some credence to the Stamkos Group rumour...or not. lol
