I know the Monsters used to fly quite a bit when they were in the Western Conference. For the Texas teams, they would fly to Dallas and then bus to Cedar Park, San Antonio, Houston and OKC. For Winnipeg they would fly to Minn/St. Paul and bus. Abbotsford was fly to Seattle and bus. Not sure where they based out of when they did their one and only California trip, probably LAX. But I do remember that when they clinched only their 2nd ever playoff spot, on which they went on to win the Calder Cup, they flew to and from Chicago. The next morning I was at Hopkins to catch a flight, and low and behold the whole team came marching through the terminal after landing from Chicago. I was kind of surprised. So I guess it depends on the organization and the amount that they want to put into travel. I think now everything they do is bus, including to Charlotte. Moving to the East probably saved a high percentage of what they were spending on travel.
