Vlasic is nowhere near the 11th best defenseman in the NHL. He is so far from that. I don’t even think he was top-30 the last year; I can’t imagine there weren’t at least 30 defensemen better than him last year.

To me, not sure he signs there unless he knows JT is going back there. Would he?

@spintheblackcircle regardless of JT's re-signing, NYI needs a new coach, and Trotz is the best available.

Now, that's one thing to help retain him. But they still need a goalie and more.

I thought Braun had a much better season last year than in 16-17.

I'm sure if we watched those 30 dmen as intensively as we have Vlasic, then we'd be critical of them, too.

I would call Vlasic a top-10 defenseman between 2014 and 2016. I’m extremely biased towards him because I watch every game because I love him.

I find it really hard to believe that there aren’t 31 defenseman in the NHL better than him. Hell, I would quite possibly entertain an argument that Joakim Ryan is better than Vlasic at this stage.
