Why? Both those 2 teams are right in the same tier of playoff hopes as the sharks as of right now.

Kings got swept in the first round and have clear depth issues; they are a bubble team. The Wild have a number of holes in their roster as well and are likely a bubble team if Dallas can get consistent goaltending. Those teams are clearly a tier below the Sharks at the moment.

The same stuff can be said about the sharks. There is not much that seperates the sharks from a pack of like 6 teams in the west right now.

Wild, avs, kings, ducks, calgary and blues.

Trivia answer: Jay Beagle.

Question: Who is the first hockey player to win championships in ECHL (Kelly Cup), AHL (Calder Cup) and NHL (Stanley Cup).

Jared staal retired a few days ago.

Pretty crazy to think that he would be the 1st, especially since growing up that entire family said jared was the one with the most skill of the 3 brothers.

$5 says this turns into another opportunity for hack journalists to write awful, awful screeds about how this just proves that Ovechkin is awful because Trotz bailed on a Stanley Cup champion and thus it must be because Ovechkin is an unclutch coach-killing malcontent that he could no longer stand to be around.
